Hi-- I was just wondering... where in the ride "It's a Small World" are the characters/kids from North America? We rode it several times on our last trip and couldn't figure that out. It seems to start in Europe and work it's way around.. but couldn't find Canada and US.

??

thanks!

Good question. Following China comes Mexico/Latin America. Then there are hula dancers. They could be Hawaiian, thus making them American. If they represent French Polynesia then I guess we were left out. The last farewell type sign before the exit is "Good Bye" in English.

Of course the song that goes on and on is in English. That last sentence makes it sound like I don't like it. It is actually one of my favorite rides. I first saw it at the World's Fair in New York before Disney World was built.

I always thought that the roller coaster and Ferris Wheel were in the US. All the kids are dressed like Americans in the late 1800's early 1900's

In the last room where all the countries are in white - up on the last wall before going into the "bye-bye" room, there is a cowboy and an indian up on the wall to the right. I believe that is the only direct reference to USA.

However I have always felt the final room truly could be USA since all the countries come together, and how we are a melting pot here in the US, we represent all cultures and peoples...

I thought there was a little cowboy with a lasso and a Native American boy, but I couldn't find them in a couple of videos I watched on Youtube. I have always said that they didn't represent the USA very well. I also wish they had signs for each country.

I like to think the same thing about the last room - representing the US/North America, being a melting pot. It think the roller coaster and all look like North America.

it is primarily the will rogers type doll. the new disneyland version has an expanded frontier area to represent the US, that's where buzz, jessie and bullseye are

According to the keys to the kingdom tour and the only two North American dolls are the Native American Indian and the Cowboy at the very end. This is in WDW not sure about DL.:wizard:
