Weird question about housekeeping request

Hi there,

I have a weird question about requesting extra blankets from housekeeping. The layered-sheet bedding is never enough to keep us warm for sleep, so we always request extra blankets for our room. For our stay, beginning tomorrow, we don't get in until VERY late--like 1am-ish Friday morning. Wondering if we can call the resort number, once our room has been assigned, and request blankets ahead of our actual arrival. Thoughts? Anyone done this? Other ideas?

Thanks!

Sounds like a plan to me. I would maybe remind them you won't be in the room so they could do it late night. But, I've not found mousekeeping to be all that reliable. You can make the request, it might happen, it might not. Have a good trip.

You can do that but I give it a 50/50 chance.
You may still have to ask once you arrive.
I also hate the triple sheeting and any time I ask for extra I'm presented with another sheet not even the very very thin blanket that is in the middle layer.
I've started bringing a Disney World fleece blanket in my carry on or checked luggage.

I'm going to say they there's little chance they will place them in your room early
Until you walk in the door, the room could not be yours. It's why they won't deliver flowers or other things till you've arrived
You can always ask for them when you check in and take them to your room yourself

remember that calling will only get you the call center not the resort even if the phone is answered with resort name. so I would not count on it esp that late

We had extra blankets in a package up on the top shelf of our closet upon arrival.(at the Boardwalk Inn) about two weeks ago.

Give it a try but have a backup plan, especially with that late of an arrival time - we are in the same boat in a couple days! I like the room cool and my kids are always "freezing cold" lol.

So for the first night the heat will be a bit higher than I like it if we don't get extra blankets :)

Otherwise at the various WDW resorts we have stayed at over the years we have never had any issues getting as many extra blankets as we need.

we called from our room for an extra blanket and when we came back we had 8 extra pillows......

I called for towel service, when I got to my room there was a stack of towels on the bed closest to the door and a heap of dirty towels laying on my bathroom floor.

I also called for trash service, it took 3 days and 3 calls for the trash to actually disappear.

Ever play whisper game as a kid? Where you sit in a line and whisper something and pass it along and see if the last person has the original statement right or wrong? Well, usually, it was wrong. This is the same case as calling for anything at Disney. Sadly, the request has to go through several steps to reach the group that will actually fulfill the request. And as in the classic kids game, it rarely makes it correctly. It's a huge PITA but to get anything, you have to go in person to request it

Well, I don't think exactly. In my case, the third phone operator told me she could see that date & times of my previous calls and what got typed into the work orders. She could see my request for trash right there on the screen. So, the phone operator types in what they hear, then someone reads the order to execute. It might go verbal at some point but every phone call is documented. And it would just be reasonable common sense that if you're delivering 18 fresh towels that there might be a few dirties that need taken away.
