Weird Park Ticket Question

We love that we made the decision to become DVC members a couple of years ago and we have already had four amazing trips as DVC members...

But there is one thing I do not like about being a DVC members..It is not being able to get the package with the tickets and the dining...I hate paying for everything individually....Most of all I hate that we have to carry a room key and park tickets...I loved when they were all on the one "KEY"...

So is there any way to get your park tickets and your room key together if you are a DVC member? Sorry if this is a stupid question...But I would really love to know...

For three trips we had the annual pass that I purchased at the discounted rate for DVC members...I had to pick them up when we got to the first park and we were given the cheap, paper tickets...I hated those because they are paper and keeping them safe over three trips was a bit of a pain...The last time we went, we did base tickets that I purchased in advance...We received the tickets in the mail and they were the nice hard ones...BUT it meant carrying around the park tickets and the room key...I know it is not a big deal...

But is there a way around this for our next trip?

Please advise...Thank you in advance!

I agree with you with the multi-card issue. You would think they would have a better system.

Anyhow, we just bought our first AP in June since we are going back in December. I asked at Guest Relations why they don't have the hard cards for AP. Her answer made some sense. If you forget or lose a paper ticket, as long as you have identifying information they will replace the ticket with no cost. If you lost a hard card they would charge a replacement fee.

I would still like the hard, plastic card with my AP and DDE but until they come up with a solution I am OK with her answer.

Take your tickets to your hotel desk concierge and they will add them to your room key. We bought our tickets from undercovertourist this last trip and they just added them to our room keys, so I only had to carry the room keys.

This is indeed correct! You can have your ticket added to your room key but I dont think you can have you AP added to your room key.

Can anyone confirm or correct me here? I'm curious too

This makes me very happy :goodvibes

Why undercovertourist? Discounted rate??

I've added a regular park pass on to the room key at the resort, I don't think it can be done with an AP. I may be mistaken.

I subscribe to mousesavers and they had a special code, I saved $5-7 per ticket over official Disney ticket prices. Every little bit helps. When you compare prices, shipping is included in undercovertourist prices, Disney is not included. Sign up for mousesavers email and they have a secret link to get even better price occasionally.

APs can not be added to room keys. There is much more info required to be printed on the back of the AP. The AP, BTW, while thin is not paper, it is a Tyvek type material. You can not tear them easily. I've had far fewer problems over the year with the APs in the card readers than we had with the hard plastic room key type tickets. And when their is a problem, the APs are easily replaced at any park.

As far as Dining, that is added available to DVC members for the same price as non-DVC guests, and it is encoded on yoour room key.

As others have said, MYW tickets, from any vendor, can be added to your room key at your hotels concierge desk in the lobby

Thanks for the information...I did know about the dining plan pricing and being on the room key because we have elected to get the dining plan every time we have visited...I am very happy that we can add the park tickets to the room key as well.

Thanks everyone :flower3:

The "paper" tickets are safer in your bathing suit pocket than the plastic room IDs. The plastic cards will delaminate and split. The "paper" or Tyvek style ticket may get faded, but the tape should still be good. Plus the "paper" tickets usually work better in the fast pass machines and ticket machines when you enter the park.

I've even called from my room to have days added to my ticket, they just do it in the computer and I never had to go back to the front desk--My family had AP's, but my sister and niece who were our guest did not. We were not sure how many days they were going to do so the CM at the front desk said to talk about then call and they would put them onto the room key.

plus the paper tix are easily replaced if lost, as long as you have a photocopy of the back of tix-somewhere else (ala traveler's checks' register)...can go to guest relations or call Tix Research if they go missing @ home:)
