Weird Invitation Question! haha

Do most wedding invitations have the bride and groom's return address on the BACK of the outer envelope????

Do you use a label, stamp, print???

We are making our own invites, so I'm trying to figure out where and how to put the return address on the outer envelope.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks!

I had our return address on the back of the flap..I just like it back there

i had it printed from the printer (i used americanwedding.com) but if you are going to hand write the invitation, then I would hand return

I put the return address in the top left hand corner

It was easier, and looked fine...

If you are living in a place where you are going to be for a while then I would just buy a return address embosser.

Tons of people make them for all different prices.

I put mine on the back flap, because that's what the template suggested. However, they started to jam in my printer so I hand wrote half and printed half, LOL.

Or you can go to Vistaprint and get a free small stamp you just pay for shipping. I think they have many different fonts. I love mine, I use it all the time.

Sorry to hijack but would you put the married names or the individual names? I have a hard time buying an embosser that I'll only use before the wedding...but we wouldn't be married yet

You could just put the address and leave names off. Or you could have an embosser made with your logo and address.

I also was wondering about the name situation. I think I'm going to put my fiance's last name (soon to be mine) and then the address underneath. We live together so it should be ok?

I printed mine on the back flap with my printer at home. Took some trial/error to get it right, but it came out so pretty.

As for what name to put there I just put the address, no name. Since DH and I lived together at the time my MIL said it was the 'proper' thing to do lol. I went with it.

I think the embossed return address looks nice on the back flap also, but I am not going to do it personally For my save the dates, I bought blank white return address labels from Staples and printed my own labels and stuck them on the top left corner. They looked fine. So, for my invitations I have tons and tons of them left, so I am saving the $45 the invitation store will charge me to have the address embossed on the back and am using my return address labels. I think it will look fine- and honestly, do guests REALLY pay that close attention to the return address?
