What is the weirdest "first dance" song choice you have ever heard?

I knew some people once who actually used the Wham song "Wham Rap" because it was the song the couple heard playing when they met.

My brother and his wife had Beyond the Sea which was kinda odd too. I have no idea why they picked it, since neither of them are big fans of the sea, although they did cruise for their honeymoon...

My ex had one job for our wedding and that was to pick the song for the first dance. What did he pick but "Kyrie Eleison" by...well, I don't remember who anymore (this was 1985). What the heck was he thinking?

I think a man was involved with picking Wham Rap as well.

Ladies who are planning weddings right now, let this be a warning to you - do not let a guy pick your first dance song! You will end up with hair bands or Wham rap.

Beware.

:teeth:

I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2 is the weirdest one I've ever heard.

My friend did her entire wedding with Jimmy Barnes songs! Even her trip down the aisle, the music playing was Many Rivers to Cross.

Then for their first dance song she had Signed Sealed Delivered playing! Throughout the whole reception all the songs were of the rock & roll nature. It was great!

This was a fun wedding. Everyone wore red except the bride. The bride and groom came in a red stretch mercedes convertible and everything was done in red - the flowers were red roses, the tablecloths were red and the decorations were all various shades of red.

Hey now, there's nothing wrong with hair bands! I'm trying to convince my df to use one as our first dance song!!!!!! :)

He, for some reason, doesn't think we should use Firehouse or Great White! Some men, geez!

I gave my DH the task of picking the first dance song. Actually he did pretty well! He gave me a list that I've kept because I thought most of his choices were so romantic and when he said every time he hears them it reminds him of me I knew I'd keep it for those rough times when I'm not so sure... Here is his list

Always on My Mind (in keeping with the thread I thought this was an odd choice as the song talks about not always being the man he should have but he's been great all along)

I Won't Do That (Meatloaf)

I Could Not Ask for More (not sure who did that but it's great)

Sweet Child of Mine (Guns N Roses  )

My Love Does it Good (Wings)

When a Man Loves a Woman (I picked that one from the list)

I think I would have had to excuse myself for the course of the song as to avoid chuckling out loud. That is just NOT a good wedding song...

Of course, neither is Wham Rap. But at least Wham Rap was funny....you know funny "ha ha" . Still haven't found what I'm looking for is funny in a sad way.

:earseek:  That is unbelievable.

The weirdest one I've heard was Leather and Lace by Fleetwood Mac.

Shugardrawers: I could not ask for more is by the oh so yummy on the I love the 90s specials Edwin McCain...His music is amazing. A female country singer remade the song, but it just didn't have the same power.

That is hilarious!!

So how is that couple doing? Doesn't sound like the greatest vote of confidence for that marriage.
