Weird Fastpass question

We are planning a vacation in December 2016. My husband is a travel agent, and he can get a discounted park admission for himself. The catch is that it the ticket is not available until we pick it up at one of the parks. Given we are from Canada, it's not like we can go and pick it up in advance (they do allow 14 days in advance)- so we'll have to pick up the his tickets when we get there.

I bought tickets for myself and my daughter already and linked to My Disney Experience so we're good to go (although for some reason, even though we are staying at a resort, we aren't seeing 60 days out? this is a separate issue).

SO I will be having to make Fastpass choices for my daughter and myself and then he will have to just take a chance when he gets to the park. Which is not what we wanted as we all wanted to go together. The travel agent discount is $100 US so not huge.

Is this going to be a huge issue? Priorities are

meeting Anna and Elsa (will be in Epcot by that time likely due to new Frozen ride)
meeting Cinderella and Rapunzel, 7DMT, Peter Pan in MK,
Rock n rollercoaster, star tours and tower of terror in HS
Safari, Everest in AK

Do we book the travel agent ticket and hope for the best or pay the extra so we can fastpass together?
We are okay with going to park for rope drop (and plan to have ADR early breakfasts for our 2 days at MK at BOG and O'Hanna).

Because he will not have a ticket until he arrives at the park, he will have limited access to headliners (especially at MK, not so much at AK and you may be OK at HS for everything except Rockin' Rollercoaster) and the odds of matching his times up with yours are not good. If you want the best access for all of you, you might have to forego that discount.

You won't see 60 days out until you actually ARE 60 days out, so you will see that in October.

You can always attempt to Copy your FP booking to his. But as Makira stated, it may prove to be difficult. Also try to book an overlapping FP window return time if Copy does not work.

Is he able to pre-purchase the TA ticket and at least receive a voucher number? If so, link the voucher number to his MDE Profile in your MDE account.

No pre-purchase on TA tickets - you request it for the number of days you want, the TA shows up with their ID card at any of the parks and picks it up. By the time the flight lands, and we get into the hotel, the parks will likely be closed so we'll have to pick up the day we go. I'm trying to figure out if it's better to start at HS or AK as those FP+ reservations are not as critical to us and then at least we have a few days to try and pick up MK and Epcot. How likely are we to get FP+ with just a few days lead time for those parks?

With the Copy feature for only one person, you may be okay with any of the parks. If Copy shows no availability, search for DH to try for a window that overlaps yours. Remember there is a 5 minute grace period at the beginning of the window and at least a 10 minute grace period at the end of the window.

Another option if you know you will be returning in the future:
~ Buy a multi-day ticket and link it to your DH to book the FPs for your total group.
~ As soon as he has his TA ticket linked to his MDE Profile/line, move the multi-day ticket away from your DH to a fake person: DHTicket Saver (you can add this fake guy right now).
~ By linking up the TA ticket, all your FPs remain for DH.

I did this on a trip with my mom, because I'm also a TA. Yes, you can try to copy the reservations, but as PPs have pointed out, some headliners will be gone. We ended up going to a kiosk location in the park and asking a CM there to help us. We found a couple of times that overlapped, but I know TSMM wasn't available, and I want to say neither was EE.

I made the Fastpass reservations for mom hoping for the best, but once we knew what we could and couldn't get, any rides we couldn't match we hit during EMH.

How do you buy a multi-day ticket and move it to a fake person? can you get a refund for that extra fake person then? Because then I'd still have time to do it?

You can reassign tickets within your MDE account. You just manipulate the data.

No refund, you'd just leave it in your MDE account until you need it for your next trip. The ticket entitlements can be moved to you or actually anyone who is listed in your MDE account.

Here is how to do it: The fake person is not part of your hotel reservation.

On MDE where it says something like "add friends and family" I enter two fake names for DH & I. These two new names have no reservations, tickets, etc. assigned to them and can stay linked forever to my MDE, whether I have an existing package or hotel res linked for myself or not. Once ticket #'s are added to MDE or package tickets are activated (by reaching your check in date for the package) you can assign any of your tickets that are UNUSED to anyone else on your friends and family list. When you want to actually use that ticket in the future, just re-assign the unused ticket to whoever needs to use it.

We've done this a few times with the tickets that are mandatory for a FD package when we've had TA tickets to use on the trip. Could only make FP+ for the amount of days on the existing tickets BEFORE we transferred them to our fake family. Don't transfer those tickets until the TA ticket is entered into MDE or you will lose the FP+ for that person. FP+ is tied to the number of ticket days so there should always be tickets showing in the MDE for that person.
