Weird dreams...

Do you ever wake up feeling angry or guilty or scared or embarrassed because of something you dreamed? Not the kind where it's sort of a wispy memory that disappears and is forgotten as soon as you shake off the sleep and start moving... the kind that leave you worried about a person or even wondering in a small corner of your mind if what you dreamed could have really happened.

The kind where you stay a little angry or embarrassed when you encounter the person in your dream in real life, even days later.

Sometimes they seem so disturbingly like real life.

(Sheesh, I wasn't even drinking or eating odd food last night, and I'm not on any interesting medications!)

Sometimes those dreams are really telling you something.

I once had a dream that I was trying to get in touch with my DH to bring me home. It was dark and late and he was supposed to get me, but never showed up. I couldn't get him by phone. I was mad.

When I woke up, I was still mad. :)

He actually did forget to get me once, but it was during the day and he fell asleep. I ended up walking somewhere and fell and broke my ankle. He's still hearing about that one 7 years later!

I dreamed I was mad at my dh and woke and was just a fussing at him. Couldn't tell him why but I was so mad. I woke up laughing before too from dreaming something funny. :rotfl:

I once had a dream about a car accident. I watched as a car went around a curve and the driver lost control. The car skidded off the road into a large grassy area where it flipped over. On the surface it seems there was nothing terribly upsetting about the dream...I wasn't in the accident, just a casual observer. However, I woke up shaking and horribly upset and the entire day I couldn't shake off the effects of the dream. It was a Saturday, but we were very busy at work, so I had gone into the office for a few hours to catch up on some work and my hands were literally shaking I was so upset. I remember commenting to one of my coworkers about not being able to shake that dream and showing her how my hands were trembling.

The night before DH had gone over to help a friend do some renovation work on a house he had just bought and he had stayed the night because it was a long drive home. I knew if DH had been in an accident his friend would surely have contacted me, so the thought of DH being in such an accident really didn't worry me.

Around noon DH called me at work quite upset. He told me that on the way to his friend's house the driver of the car in front of him had lost control of his car going around a curve, ran off the road into a field, and the car flipped over. DH stopped to help and found a teenage boy in the car, seriously injured. DH later found out he was paralyzed and would never walk again. I know it sounds crazy, but I'm convinced I somehow picked up on DHs extreme anxiety over the accident - the details match too closely and my anxiety was so exaggerated...I can't think of any other explanation.

I havea recurring dream that DH leaves me. When I wake up, I am very angry with DH for doing that to me in my dream. But then we "make up" in real life for the ficticious fight, so it doesn't bother him.
