When you need to check your bill etc. before checkout they usually slide your final bill or receipt under the door the night before you checkout then you can checkout using the tv. Our upcoming resort reservation is in my name with my credit card. Do you think I can request at the desk for them to NOT slide a copy of the final bill under my door and hold it and I will go to the desk to check out? I know this sounds sneaky and please don't flame me for being a bad wife. Here's the deal. We have been to WDW 5 times in 8 years. Every trip is the same thing. We tell DH we want to go back to the World and he gives us his practical "we need to save money for college tuitions ahead of our 3 kids and for retirement....." Then I give him the old "but our kids are growing up so fast (we had difficulty finding ONE week this whole year we can go on vacation that the kids don't have some sort of obligation) dd only has 3 more years of high school - she won't want to go on family vacations much longer. Plus, we work hard, we go nonstop, life is short, we DESERVE a vacation." Then I make the "deal". "OK honey, how about you say ok as long as I can save the money and have the resort and tickets paid for before we go. I won't turn down any days of substituting until school's out. Then next thing you know I'm asking where he'd like p.s., about things we want to do, etc. He never acts excited about going until we get there and then guess who is a big kid and is JUST as giddy as the rest of us. One time he went to the front desk the morning of check out to see if we could stay one more night to surprise us but no availability. Now he KNOWS what a trip to WDW costs but it's a psychological thing with him to not actually hear or see the numbers except for dining, etc. He doesn't even know where we are staying - we were going to stay at POR but had to change dates and couldn't get a room there with our email pin code so I asked him where we should stay and he said that was my decision, he and the kids want me to surprise them. The Boardwalk Inn - they will be in heaven since we love the Boardwalk area and the short walk to Epcot. But I don't want him to see the $$ per night right before we leave and him be surprised but not in a pleasant way and then have 14 hours in the car going home. Sometimes he's just better off not knowing all the details.
