What the heck? When I first saw this thing, I thought it was a scorpion but, I'm pretty sure, scorpions don't have wings. :teeth:

Any bug people out there. Hmm, that didn't sound too good. How about any people that know about bugs?

That is one of very few reasons it's better to live here than Florida - WE DON'T HAVE THOSE! Did you crunch it?

I think it could be some type of a water bug they all have wings like that they kind of look like cockroaches a bit. Not an expert but I've seen one like that before but it didn't have the wierd tail thing. Good thing it didn't get you! I would have screamed so loud. :scared1:

I will not look. I will not look. I will not look. I will not look. I will not look.

Hey! It's the John Holmes of the bug world! Brings a whole new meaning to "It's tough to be a bug!" :rotfl2:

I live in Florida -- and I've never seen one of those!!! Yuck!

Ewww...could it be a water scorpion?

Crawl under your bed and hide!!!

It looks like a dragonfly on steriods! Did it have a stinger on at the end of it's body?

It looks like a dragonfly to me. :confused3

I just have to say though, that I love when you post pictures. :)

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

I really don't think that was a stinger but I wasn't getting any closer to find out. I was only about 2 feet away from it when I took those pictures and, I've got to admit, I was nervous. And, no, I didn't smoosh it. It was outside not in the house.

There's a site online that will give you the name of a bug with just a general description but I can't remember what that site's called. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

All and all, a pretty cool bug. :thumbsup2

Agreed!
The tail I believe is the breathing thing so it cans it in water and wait for prey.
