Weird and Ninja’s Pre-Disneymoon [Completed!]

Fun times! I love the drive down to FL. Mainly cause we don't have trees in Tucson!

You can make tons of different kinds of waffles! Salmon and dill stuff waffle where you actually mix chopped salmon in the waffle batter. No sugar of course!

Peanut Butter and Jelly Waffles. Polenta and Ham waffles. I make a few for DH and then only eat the Polenta ones for myself. Oh gosh I have to look at my cook book there are tons!

I thought about you yesterday. We were at my Grandma's house for Sunday lunch. We always have a big planned potluck meal after church on Sundays. This includes of course sweet tea for most everyone. (Way better than McD's) We were eating and when I looked over at my DH's plate I saw: ham, fried potatoes, and biscuits & gravy! I said, "I wish I had my camera here to take a picture of this for RachelNinja!" Next time, my dear!

Rachel, just consider me your "Future Southern Girl" tutor. The pretty purple in the trees is a woody, flowering vine called Wisteria. It only blooms in the early Spring. It's beautiful when it does, but otherwise it's a real nuisance. It can really get out of control in a yard.

The syrup is Hungry Jack. It has a little sensor on the front that tells you when it's hot. It's tasty!

The sign on the towel was cute. I love random things like that.

I've never been to South of the Border...it seems like somewhere I'd want to go! Haha.

YUM! Yes yes yes, pictures in the future would be GREAT! Is ham another southern thing? I know that CB has that available; I had that the first time in Virginia but the one I had was extremely salty. Should've gotten the honey-glazed one or whatever the other one was.

Those park days are going to be even more difficult! I have to mix my pictures with Weird's pictures, and for some reason, some of them uploaded in an odd order on Photobucket. The first 2 days weren't as bad because I did more picture-taking than Weird since he was driving.

Thanks! The math state tests are this Wednesday and Thursday. It's just a crazy time. ELA state tests last week, math this week, and then next week we have field tests. At least there's no preparation for field tests! Phew.

I just googled the syrup; I love that it says they have a smiley face in the cap. I'm going to give the name to my mom. Mmm, warm syrup. We should use it when I finally have the time to use my egg/pancake rings to make Mickey-shaped pancakes!

I think it'd be funny to take pictures at South of the Border, but I don't think I'd want to use the restrooms there! In the past, I heard that there are lots of roaches! I don't know, I'm hoping that was really just in the past!

Think there'd be as many conflicts between nations if everyone just decided to wear wacky socks?

YAY! Welcome to my TR! I'm glad that you're enjoying it.

I don't wear the socks that often, which is why they're lasting. But when I see different colors and prints, I automatically want them! Haha, I just don't have a need to buy them right now because at MOST, I'll wear one pair of socks a week!

I take food porn pictures even when I'm here at home. Weird and I take a lot of the sushi we eat even if most of the time we order very similar things! It just makes us drool when we see it, why not capture it to drool over later?!?

And sometimes the AC is so high that a jacket is needed! When I saw that the temperature was getting higher this past week, I thought, "Ooo, it's not going to bother me because it didn't bother me in Florida." But of course, we haven't put the AC on yet because it hasn't been hot enough, so it's not at all like Florida! And I'm very far away from WDW!

Sunday, April 4: Billboards and an Eyelash

(Upside down exclamation point) Hola mis amigos! Tengo sueno, pero voy a escribir. Haha, sorry if that's terribly written. I haven't taken Spanish in a while!

We filled the car up with gas and got ready to leave the grossness that is Florence. Weird saw that the car in front of us completely forgot to put the gas cover back on, but he later saw them stop at the side of the highway and fix it.

Anyway, before we left the place completely, I snapped a picture of this sign for the Thunderbird Inn. My mom told me that when we were kids, my older brother really wanted to say at this place just because of the name! I don't know if it was because the name just sounded cool to him or if it reminded him of an old cartoon called Thundercats.

The next sign I wanted to take a picture of was actually not this one. It was so bright that I aimed at the wrong billboard! It ended up being a "good" picture since it was about being a teacher! The scary thing about this is that teachers have the power to change students' lives for the better OR for the worse.

This is the billboard I was trying to get! Phoenix Mart got Weird and me laughing because Weird has this funny thing for phoenixes. I just asked him, "Why do you like phoenixes?" and this was his response: "Haha, bc they're cool and legendary;
the idea of a bird made out of fire is kinda cool. Haha, that sounds so nerdy." Hehe, it's okay; I still love you.

We passed by a lot of random single houses. Those were similar to what I want! We then saw a lot of these cookie cutter houses. They were also enticing to some degree but slightly creepy!

Then all of a sudden I started freaking out! My left eye was hurting so much, and I just knew that I had an eyelash in there. I get eyelashes in my eyes pretty much every 3 days or so. It's so constant, and I don't know why. Despite the fact that my hands weren't washed, I had to take it out because otherwise I would lose it, and it would hurt more. Here is that little annoyance!

Any time we saw a sign for a Chinese restaurant, we joked about how much we wanted to eat there. This Peking Chinese restaurant sign was funny because those characters don't look like real Chinese letters!

This was another sign that has been up for years and years. My older brother loved it as well, which is why I snapped a picture of it. He loved fishing as a kid, but he could only go with my grandfather when we went to Poconos just because nature things were never my dad's thing.

Random story, but on one occasion, my grandpa got the hook stuck in his finger while they were out on the rowboat! They had to row back to shore, and then my grandpa had to drive himself to the hospital with one hand. The injured hand was held up to help stop the bleeding, and he just kept reassuring my brother that everything would be okay when my grandpa was the one with a foreign object lodged in his flesh! That's one of the stories my brother told during my grandfather's 80th birthday party (all the grandkids shared a story or memory).

Weird and I thought this would be a very good bicycle route! It's nice and flat with a pretty view!

A bike ride would've been a good break from just sitting in the car. But alas, we still had a while to sit in the vehicle! Just how much longer is it going to be?!? Just how many more installments until we see the Welcome Center for Florida?!? Haha, it'll be a while.

Well I'll stick around! I love the drive to FL from GA. When I come home I always fly into Jacksonville and my folks come and get me. It's cheaper than going to Atlanta.

I love the billboards! For a while I was thinking about doing that Troops to Teachers deal but I'm not so sure. Cooking is winning right now. I think DH is really thinking about it though. He always talks about how he wants to make a difference in the world.
