Has anyone already figured out any WW points for Disney foods, etc.?

We're staying in a villa, so I'll definitely do breakfast before the parks. I'll choose fruit instead of fries, etc.

But I know when I get there, I'll spend my time trying to figure something out to eat.

So, does anybody have any sure-fire tips for staying on program? At least I'll get activity points from all of the walking :)

I don't want this one week to sabotage the good work I've done already. Still a long way to go, but 17 pounds so far!

TIA!

I'm in the same situation. I plan on keeping up my routine of jogging each morning in the treadmill. I figure I can at least control that part of my routine. I'm hoping to just find the lower point version of things and for sure the fruit instead of fries. We leave Friday, so one more weigh in day for me before we go. Good luck with your continued success! I'm at 17 lost too!

How long have you been on WW? Congratulations on losing 17 lbs! I think the length of your experience with WW makes a difference in knowing how to eat at WDW or at any restaurant.

If you eat out at home sometimes, I think you'll pretty much know what some things will cost you in points. Maybe you could prepare yourself a list of common restaurant foods and what they're worth in points. You can probably order a grilled chicken sandwich plain with lettuce & tomato, for example, and guesstimate its points based on what a grilled chicken sandwich would be in points at a restaurant you already know (like Red Robin, Chik Fil A, etc). Skip the mayo, cheese, battered proteins, etc. It may not be exact, but it should be close enough. Do you have ADRs or know which counter service you'll eat at? You can check their menus online and look up an equivalent food so you know ahead of time several things you can order at the restaurants you'll likely visit at WDW. dottisweightlosszone has a great list of restaurants and points (http://www.dwlz.com/restaurants.html). You won't find the Disney restaurants on there, but for example if you know you'll eat at one of WDW's mexican restaurants, find a restaurant similar and get the points ahead of time.

In general, if you are at a total loss as to what the points are for something, the points are probably a lot and you might want to order something different.

Other tricks: Order a sandwich and subtract a piece of bread from it (eat it open-faced). Split an entree. Order an appetizer for your main course.

Best of luck!

Thanks, HousetoMouse!

Those are all great ideas. We do have some ADR's, so I'll go ahead and look ahead of time. Preparation is definitely key for me.

Any other meals out will probably be at some of the chain restaurants, so I can look those up ahead of time also.

I'm pretty focused right now, so I think I will be OK.

Hi! Congrats on your loss so far! :) We leave in a few weeks for DW (our first trip!) and I'm also on WW. Down 42 lbs (hopefully closer to 50 by the time we leave). We are going to be there for 12 days. I figure that I'm going on vacation, so I'm going to enjoy it. Enjoy not meaning over-do it. But, I'm going to make smart choices when I can, stop eating when I'm full, and drink lots of water. You'll be walking so much that chances are if you DO gain while there, it will only be a very small amount. Have a wonderful vacation! :lovestruc

Congrats first to you and your weight loss. I have lost 15 pounds since Jan. 1 and I am NOT going to gain it back now or when I get to Disney. I am not on weight watchers but, on another diet plan. I must say, I have already looked and sort of planned my menus and the food I will be eating when I go in 150 days:) Go to allearsnet.com and they have all menus for the restaurants so you can prefigure what you need to eat and guess on the points..good luck and enjoy every special bite of all things delicious:) Yes, do eat ice cream while you are there:)

I love this thread! I have also lost 15 lbs on WW and plan to lose another 20 before our trip in June. Another idea is to pack your own lunch and snacks. That way, the only "unknown" points will be at dinner.

That's my attitude too. I lost over 80 lbs on WW 8 years ago and have kept it off. I go up about 5 lbs on vacation but so much of it is sodium. I always lose it within 2 weeks. I think adding 2 weeks to reaching my weight goal is worth it at WDW. I drink lots of water and skip the carbs I wont miss (like buns on a sandwich or fries) and enjoy the ones I do eat (like Dole Whips). It took me almost 2 years to make lifetime but I did it on a way that worked with my lifestyle and that I could live with permanently, because how you eat to lose the weight is how you'll have to eat the rest of your life. Good luck with your goals!

Great thread! I am doing WW and have lost 16lbs so far. We leave for WDW in June. My SIL and I both are doing WW but we have decided that by June we will deserve to relax. I don't plan to be stupid but I'm not going to count during vacation either.

We are renting a house so we will do breakfast there each morning so I'm sure I'll stick to my egg white omelet or something healthy.

Good luck to each of you!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Just made it back and I am a little stressed about weigh in day. I did very well the first part of the day, tracking my breakfast and lunch. The evenings got me. I did manage to still walk in the am on the treadmill most days, do in addition to walking around the parks I am hoping I stay the same. Mickey bars are 8 or 9 points!
Good luck on your trip!

First I have to say good job and congrats!!!! I <3 WW. I just wanted to add...this probably isn't what you want to hear, and probably won't help you, but I just wanted to share.

I started WWP+ last year. As of right now I have lost 55 lbs (my original goal) and am working on 10 more. I read a quote on the WW Twitter that has kind of stuck with me. It said something to the effect of, "It took you longer than one week to lose your weight, it will take you longer than one to gain it back."

We are going to WDW in June and I plan on eating whatever the heck I want :) Power to you if you stay on plan though, there is no way on earth I could ;)

I'm down 12 pounds on WW and most of our ADRs our at buffets. I am going to eat what I like in SMALL portions. I plan on splitting meals with my hubby as well as treats. I'm going to enjoy myself...just use smarter choices. :)

I've been on WW for just shy of a year. I've lost 62 lbs so far! I've been to WDW twice since I started and each time I ate what I wanted. I limited the extra snacking but still chose what I wanted at each meal, made sure I did plenty of walking (not hard at WDW) and kept drinking enough fluid. I didn't gain on either trip.

I plan on doing the same thing on the upcoming trip.

With the portion control knowledge I find it's easier to know when to call it quits while out to dinner, etc. Also, since I eat smaller portions at each meal now it's hard for me to sit down and cram all kinds of food into my stomach....I seem to get fuller faster.

Good luck and have fun on your trip!!!!

DH & I have been following WW for 10 weeks now. Twenty-five lbs down for me so far! We have three trips planned this year and all of your words have been very encouraging! I think we will be better able to manage our eating while still enjoying ourselves. Thanks everyone and keep your ideas coming!

I SO LOVE your way of thinking! I've been on WW for 6 months and have lost 24 pounds! :wishtwenty We have booked our trip for November 2012 and I'm sure I will be at goal weight by then, but half of our fun is doing the Dining Plan and I am going to enjoy it! I will be good for breakfast and make good choices when I can (fruit NOT fries!) but I'm NOT turning down some of those desserts or the filet at Le Cellier! Now I may not eat ALL of the cheesecake, but I will order it! :lovestruc

But I also totally respect people trying to stay on plan for their vacation. :cheer2: I know for some, it may be a slippery slope eating anything they want for a whole week. Kinda like trying to tell an alcoholic in AA that they can drink all they want on vacation - they probably wouldn't be able to stop once vacation was over!
This is my 3rd time at WW and this time, I am looking at it as a lifestyle change, not a "diet" to lose weight and then back to the way I've always eaten. It's just a whole different mindset this time around!

Are you on the dining plan? My wife and I find that when we're on the plan, a lot of the time, we're eating just to eat (so we don't lose snack credit, etc). We also normally don't eat desserts with meals, but you pretty much have to while on the plan (I know, I know, nobody is twisting my arm).. I think by not being on the plan, you can make some smarter choices ..
