I just joined weight watchers this past Tuesday and have been doing really well. I get 26 points per day, plus 35 points per week extra if I need it. My question is: If I don't use my 26 points per day, can/do I carry those over if I need them??
 
no - your minimum points is your goal to eat for the day -- don't short yourself those points as it may have negative effects on your metabolism. If you find you have points left to reach your minimum, pick a higher point yet healthy snack such as milk/cheese; frozen yogurt; light microwave popcorn; peanuts; etc. You can add any activity points for the day on top of your minimum (26) and use those points before dipping into your Flex points (your extra 35 for the week)

ohMom - Thank you... that helps a lot. Since I'm new to the program, I wasn't sure. I guess I never thought that I should use all my points, but I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks again
 
Also keep in mind that your points will only go down from 26, 2 at a time, as you lose weight. ;) ;)
 

Thanks KimRaye... I had heard that and I think as those points go down, it will get much tougher for me.
 
Tera remember also that as you exercise you gain AP which you can use for more food. But you can also eat carrots, celery, pickles, etc as these are point free foods. They fill me up.princess:
 
Thanks Niki - I always try and keep carrots in the house so if I need to eat something, I try and go for those first.
 
Hi Tera,

I agree with Molli, really be careful with watching your points. If you go too low, trust me you will actually gain rather than loose. At the beginning its hard enough to learn to eat this way, and if you don't eat enough your body will rebel and you will be left wondering what went wrong and thinking the program doesn't work.

Thanks Melanie! I have a feeling I'm paying for going below my points all week today. Its that TOM and I have no energy today at all. I'm afraid to weight-in tomorrow, but going to take Molli and your advice and don't cheat myself those extra points. Going to get hard enough when my points drop that I better enjoy them now :D
