Weight Watchers - Please Help!

I am looking into purchasing the weight watcher 2006 materals.

I found the 2006 TurnAround Starter Kit. It has the 2006 Complete Food Companion, 2006 Dining Out Companion, 12 Week My QuikTrak Diary, and Weight Watchers Member Organizer.

Is this the lastest materials and will it have everything I need? I can buy it for about $35 plus shipping.

Are you doing points? If so, make sure you get a points counter....that's the most important thing.

I'm just getting ready to start WW. I cannot go to meetings with my schedule so I'm trying to use the materials to do it on my own. I am not sure if I'm going to do the Flex Points or the Core Program. The materials I mentioned before have both programs.

Question - About the calculator you mentioned is this an electric version? I've seen those on ebay too.

I don't go to meetings either but follow the Flex program, so I count points. A family member of mine did WW and then stopped so I was about the get their material. Truthfully, I don't use anything but the points card, which in my case is not electronic. It's like a slide ruler. The dining out companion is helpful but most chain restaurants have their nutritional information online so I just refer to that. I bought a WW cookbook that has info on points for basic things like chicken, eggs, milk etc. I've been really successful on my own so never missed not going to meetings. Some people need the accountability. I never did Core but points have been great for me.

looks like you are purchasing what is called the Basic Starter Kit at the WW online store. any other add-ons include things that would be nice or fun but not necessary like the eletronic point calculator, workout DVD, pedometer, and/or cookbooks.

I've done WW many times but I dislike going to meetings. I recently found that you can just do it on line and I'm really enjoying it. You have access to lots of great information that you can print. You can also purchase the printed materials if you wish, although I find that for me, the printed books have so much food that I don't eat, that it's more convenient for me to copy the foods I do eat to a Word document and print that. Same with restaurants, the guide is heavy on fast food which I don't eat, so it's not as useful.

Where can you get it for $35.???? That sounds really cheap.

I bought this same starter kit at my 1st WW meeting for $23.00. It has been a great resource and very helpful. I would suggest checking for a local meeting paying the $12.00 for the one meeting, get the program information and see if you like it from there. You don't have to committ to any number of weeks. If you feel you can do it own your own, you don't need to go back. That was my plan, but I found that I really enjoy going to the meetings.

If you have a WW somewhere not too far from your home, I would suggest going and getting it in person. The location close to me sells them for 23.00 plus tax. Unless there is something else the one online gives you it sounds like the same one i have. The organizer, 2 food companion books, 12 week journal, and a points counter.

I have been toying with this idea for a bit, to assist with all of the family and our eating choices. We are bored with the meals we have been using and I want choices to be healthier.
