Hi everyone, I just got my weight watchers magazine, and it has the info on the new program in it. Our leader told us she couldn't sell it until after the 25th, because that is when WW can release the info, but they weren't thinking about the other magazines that were already sent out!
So.... here goes if you want to know about the info. I will touch the highlights, but a while back when we were speculating on the changes, some of the guesses were right on! The following is from the first page of the article. (forgive any spelling errors, I was writing it fast!)
*************************************************
Welcom to flexpoints, a new twist on the progam that's unbelievably easy to follow. No matter what your individual dieting style, you'll find the flexibility you need to achieve your weight loss goals. Once and for all. Here's a preview:
TARGET PRACTICE: Instead of daily points range (i.e., 24 to 29) you'll be fiven a points target (ie 24) this target will be determined based on your current weight.
FLEX TO SUCCESS: In addition to your points target you get 35 flex points to be used in any combination during the week. you can use them as needed, dividing them evenly over seven days, or saving them for a weekend splurge (i.e. for a holiday event or a big Sunday buffet). But once the week is over, so are they!
CHECKS AND BALANCES: Not a numbers whiz? They you'll love quick Track, a new element of the program that makes it easier than ever to tally up your points for the day. You'll be provided with a quick trak notebook during week 1. Similar to a checkbook, the quick trak system allows you to count down your points subtracting all the food you eat during the day and adding points for any activity you do. with this deposit and debit sysem you'll always know exactly how many points you have left for the day.
TAKE ACTION: Flex points features a more personalized approach to weight loss, and a move away from the "one size fits all philosphy. The program features a variety of Action sheets (available at meetings) targeted to dieters who are going through universally difficult dieting situations. Action sheets address several hot-spots, including large weight losses, plateaus, menopause, and losing the last few pounds.
*******************************************
The article goes on to give a 3 day diet, and talks about free foods, and then ideas on how you might encounter the need for flex points.
Sounds very similar. Our leader had already told us there wouldn't be banking of points, because they felt that people didn't really do that. I think that is where the change mostly came from, but that is just my humble opinion!

Although, I wonder what would happen if you fall slightly short of your target (ie. if you ate 23 instead of 25 points)
