Hi All,

I'm looking for advice on following weight watchers while at Disneyland Paris this weekend, and I'm hoping there will be some people out there who have experienced trying to stick to plan and track all food while in the parks. I would also welcome some more sensible suggestions on food choices from those that haven't followed plan but have all that wonderful expertise of DLP.

What I'd like to know is:

1) which restuarants are best places to cater to those seeking to eat healthier/make sensible choices?
2) which restuarants offer a better veggie selection (im not a vegetarian but fruit and veg are free on plan)

I find it difficult to be objective because I love eating at DLP and it's hard to seperate my wants from whats practical.

Thanks

K.

I'm following WW too but have resigned myself to the fact that it will be pretty hard to stick to plan completely in DLP.

Buffets are a good choice as they all have a salad section and other lean(ish) meats.

Remember that you'll be walking around 20000 steps a day (that was the average on my last trip) so that's quite a few activity points earned!

Good luck but don't be too hard on yourself if you aren't perfect xx

Buffets will always be a good bet and if you look through the menus you will see that even the cs offers healthier options like salad, yogurt, fruit. In the ts you will find fish and lean meats and salad options and you can always get the sauce on the side. If you order steak for example it comes in a little pot anyway.

EoS offers salads, again the sauce comes separately as does McDo. McDo also offers things like little bags of Cherry toms and apple slices.

You can also buy salads and fruit from the Casino supermarket in the RER/Train station

I'm sure as Helen says you will be walking a lot so you can have a little treat and not feel guilty :sunny:

If you're doing filling and healthy you'll be able to do pretty good at the buffets, Inventions especially as lots of nice salad and meat/seafood.

I personally don't have the will power not to indulge while on holiday though. Especially when it's only a few days and we'll be pretty active.

I agree with the above. I also seem to remember that several of the stands were selling fruit cups in October.

I was on weight watchers a couple of years ago, and while at DLP I pigged out big style, but with all the walking I did, I still managed to lose 3lbs that week :)

I do so much walking in dlp and j don't eat as much as I don't snack there as too busy. I can eat what I want for lunch and still not gain any lbs.

Thanks to all for your helpful advice.

@Donald Ducks wife, that's fantastic and I really hope all the walking will make the difference!

Usually I would just give myself a break and eat what I wanted but I am going straight up to Scotland for two weeks after being in Disneyland, so I know there will be some pitfalls there too, so I'm trying to arm myself so that I don't undo some of the great losses I've had to date.

I'm staying at the NPB, are the restaurants open? I was thinking due to the fish, those restaurants may not be the worst choice?

The Yacht Club isn't open at the minute but the buffet, Cape Cod would probably be better suited to your dietary needs right now anyway.
I've always gained on weigh in just after DLP. But I find initially I'm bloated from all the bread, dehydration and alcohol and it takes maybe 5 days to see exactly how much I've put on. I might be up 7lbs initially but quickly lose 3/4/5 that were just due to retention / bloating.
if you want to be active, Lake Disney would be an ideal circuit to jog.
There's normally a weight loss thread on the UK community board too if you would like to share your weight loss journey with other DISers. Best of luck and have a great time xx
