I cannot decide if I want to do WW for the 3rd time? Has anyone done it more than once and then stuck with it and kept it off? I did the first time after my first baby online - lost most of the baby weight. I did it after my 2nd baby now almost 2 and lost most of it before I gave up and continued to lose the rest on my own. Now I ahve gained back the weight and I am sick of it. Just wondering what your success stories were.

I have done multiple attempts at WW. I was on my third or fourth attempt when I lost 20 lbs. I didn't stick with it when I moved though, so I am back on it and have lost 5 lbs.

ETA: If you need extra support, you could try doing the Biggest Loser Challenge on the WISH boads. Our new challenge starts on Friday! I find that to be extra motivating.

I lost 60 pounds on WW the first time I did it. I've tried it several times since and will lose some weight but then gain it back. I'd decided WW doesn't work for me because I get sick and tired of counting each and every bite I eat. It gets opressive after a while and I start to resent it. That's why I know I won't be successful with it. I've done better cutting out processed foods and sticking to lean meats, whole grains, fruits, veggies and low-fat dairy. My doctor recommended this approach and I like it because I don't have to count at all. I'm just careful with portion sizes but if I want an extra apple I don't have to check my points allowance for the day.

I guess you need to figure out why WW didn't work for you the first two times you tried it. Do you get tired of counting points? Did you end up not liking the meetings and stop going? Did you find the maintenance program too hard to stick to? If you figure out what didn't work and you're willing to make it work this time, I'd say try again. If you just don't see yourself succeeding with it longterm, then maybe it's time for a new approach.

My coworker is currently on WW and she's lost close to 40 pounds so far. She has quite a bit to lose (over 150 pounds). Last year, she lost 45 pounds on WW but then broke her ankle and gained it all back. I'm hoping she'll be successful this time because she's really trying to stick to it. I think any weight loss program comes down to how badly you want to lose and how willing you are to stick with it no matter what comes up. Good luck!:)

I like counting points for awhile - then I find myself not doing it. I usually have to go to the meeting because if I don't get weighed in I know I won't follow it...I don't know maybe I will try and just eat veg, fruits, etc . Any more advise or stories about others doing it? Thank you!

The problem is that losing the weight is actually the easy part. It's maintaining the weight loss that is difficult. People bounce around from diet to diet and can drop the weight. The key is making a permanent lifestyle change after the weight is off. So, I don't think switching from Weight Watchers to something else is the solution. The solution is learning how to keep the weight off after it is lost. I have read a few of the Biggest Loser books and Jillian Michaels books and they are very helpful in showing how to maintain a healthy lifestyle long term.

DH left WW and went to Jenny Craig...he than lost 30 lbs. Than we went on a cruise and the holidays came and he gained back 20...hehehe. He said he likes JC better than WW. I had 10 lbs to loose so tryed JC also and lost it and have kept it off. I like their food. My problem is not so much dieting to loose but I am bad at making food for myself. When put on a regimen and the food is made for me I will eat.

I never seem to eat what I make our boys who have no wt problem at all. Am planning on trying a new approach as the first of the year and cooking for all of us again.

Good luck on what ever path you choose!

Soem of my Lifetime friends have said that after awhile, they don't really need to count points anymore. They have figured out what works for their bodies. If they do start to gain or notice they are slipping in their habits, they will count for awhile. Obviously everybody is different.

I haven't done WW, but I struggle with my weight. As someone said, the hard part is keeping the weight off.

I agree with this. I lost about 40 pounds on WW around 2001-2002 and then little by little gained it back by going back to my old habits. A WW program started at work in July and I have lost about 15. I've been at a standstill the last 2 or 3 months because I have not been following it closely. I'm going to be in trouble when I get weighed next week (no meeting this week). I really have to get back on track next week. Our at work program refunds our program fees if we lose 10%, I'm getting close. It's about $250, that should be an incentive! Some people at work have lost over 40!
