Hi there, DH and I are doing WW and are wondering if anyone else has done it and gone to WDW, did you go off plan while you were there or try to stay on plan?

I'm also a fellow weight watcher and I will be going in June! DH and I have planned to eat a lot of counter service with the exception of 3 sit down meals, one for each day. I figure we will have to pick wisely while enjoying our Disney feast! Besides with all the walking and the swimming, one sit down meal a day will not kill us. Good Luck & Enjoy Disney! :flower:

i always look at the menu and decide what i will most likely order. and although the costs are high, i usually do not eat all of the entree. or share w/my husband. same for dessert. but no dessert unless it is a celebration. :earboy2:

haha, my weight watchers diet went right out the window after my WDW vacation in March. i decided to take a week's hiatus. luckily i only gained 2 pounds on the trip. as long as you control your portions i think it will be fine - it's definitely do-able. Good luck!

I would say go off the plan for the week. I would be diligent with drinking water, and just try not to stuff yourself at mealtimes. You'll be doing LOTS of walking anyway.

My husband and I went to WDW in 2002 while on the losing part of WW, and tried very hard to stick to the plan. One great thing was instead of french fries, you can order baby carrots at most of the counter service restaurants. However, I would recommend going off plan for the week. It was hard and depressing to try and eat on program, when there is sooo much good food there. Even though I stayed on plan, I still gained, which was even a bigger bummer. Since both my husband and I have reached our lifetime goals, we splurge while on vacation and just get back on track when we get back home.

When I went 2 years ago I knew I wouldn't stay on program. I just watched what I ate but did have some indulgences. But with the excitement of being there, we often just had our meals when we were really hungry, no snacking. That topped with all the walking I ended up losing 3 pounds that week!

Just be sensible. You walk so much that you earn a ton of activity points. Honestly, when losing I took a break. It was too hard to enjoy a vacation and count everything. Now that I am lifetime, I eat the Mickey bar and get over it.

I did the same thing. I was on WW and went to Disney at the same time. My plan was to not count points. Instead, I was a little more choosy about my options. Example: I would eat the chicken wrap at Peco Bills instead of cheesburger and chili cheese fries (let me insert YUM YUM right now!). I would then only eat half of the portion or share it with another member of my party. If you do this, drink water instead of sodas, and take into account of all the walking--you will be fine when you weigh in the following week! And, if you are not, I bet you only gain a pound if that! I don't exercise AT ALL. So, Disney walking is the bomb for me!!! It helps alot! Good luck and dont stress too much about it. After all--you are on vacation!!

We are leaving in 3 1/2 weeks, and I also just started WW 2 wks ago (lost 8.8 already!). I have no intention of staying on the plan, writing anything down, or even attempting to figure points! I will choose better options SOME of the time. I intend to eat some desserts, drink some wine, eat all I want at buffets, but also walk a lot, drink a lot of water, and be careful the rest of the time. I do not want to be stressed on my vacation - take it as it comes!

P.S. I am stressed enough just planning WHERE to eat - I don't need more pressure of figuring out WHAT to eat!

I do WW and I went "off" (for the most part) for the weekend I was there. I just tried to control my portions, not eat dessert, and drink lots of water. There aren't really a lot of "healthy" options available and who wants to try and figure out points on vacation!!! I also brought some of my WW snacks (FF pringles, 100 calorie bags) with me so I wouldn't be tempted with the snacks in the park.

Also, as others have mentioned. Don't forget how much exercise you get walking around :flower:

I agree with the other posters. I plan on not sticking to plan that week, but eating sensible portions, making the healthiest choices, drinking tons of water, and doing LOTS of walking. Things should work out ok. I've been on WW for three years now (maintaining at this point) and I always figure a week of vacation won't kill me, as long as I don't go wildly overboard.

Have a great trip! :sunny:

If your DH or someone else will do it, Share, share, Share! (and stay away from the buffets!) The portions for many things are really pretty good size. If no one will share, order and appetizer and a salad. I do that frequently and it's plenty to eat.

I just restarted on WW and my big downfall is the rum runners , not the food. LOL!
