Weight loss for Wishers and becoming Leaner Meaners!

Great Job Sarah! It's only icing on the cake when the jeans fit! Yippee. Cause to celebrate!:banana::banana: Don't worry......there will be the perfect jeans out there somewhere! Maybe a pair of skinny jeans are in order. I love your success during this challenge!

Just back from vacation this afternoon. I'll do my final weigh in for the BL tomorrow morning, but I don't think it will be pretty.

Weigh in today 142. I think I was supposed to lose weight during this BL, not gain it. Oops. Back to it this week. I didn't track points this week.

Don't feel bad, Cindy. I am not at all pleased with my TOM weight. I can't believe this gain. I'm just going to ignore it and hope things are much better come Friday! Ok, I'm going to do more than hope -- I'm going to run, walk, and we just set up the Wii Fit I got for my birthday, so I'm going to enjoy getting into that. Plus, I think this week's menu is conducive to weight loss, as long as I stick to reasonable portions!

I was going to wait until someone else posted but...

I did 4.5 miles yesterday. I think I'm ready to increase my short runs from 4 to 4.5. It felt great, and I'm not sore today.

My other BL Challenge has been extended until the show starts, so that's good news. I'm coaching the last week (8/28 - 9/4), so all the more incentive to kick it up a notch and lose this weight once and for all.

Jeanne -- I have slipped much closer to you with my TOM weight, so we are really going to do this together. I am really hoping I see a big loss Friday.

You guys really are a bunch of Big Losers, I am seeing great #s!

Let's Go, Girls! (and Fellas! -- Hey, where are our Guys?!)

I'm having withdrawals... My home laptop is crashing, and I have no internet access. I'm crazy busy at work and have limited DIS time, and can't access Facebook at all. DH doesn't sense the urgency to take the time to figure out the problem...

Not a bad week - still holding at a 4 pound loss, which considering how bad I was last week I'm extremely happy. Lots of stress at work, so I made very bad choices and only ran once midweek. But I went to the grocery store yesterday and planned menus, so I'm looking forward to a much better week, at least on the food and exercise front. Work, not so much!

Don't have time for individual shoutouts, just want to say that all of you keep me motivated. Thank you!

Jackie

Having mucho internet problems....it's working sporatically....waiting for dh's lap top to come home!

Good Morning Lean Mean Brigade!

I just did 4.5 mi, and I'm still feeling good! I also did 4.5 when I got home last night, and set up my mii for the Wii Fit. My Wii Fit age is 44, so I think that's not too bad, +3 years. I'm going to work diligently to get that down, along with my BMI which is literally off the charts :scared1:

I have a little extra time at home this morning. I'm going to an offsite meeting instead of straight to the office. I'm hoping to get some things set up so I have less to do when I get home tonight. We're having haddock for dinner, which means a nice, healthy low points meal. DH just puts some spices on it and bakes it. Add some brown rice and steamed broccoli, and it's a pretty good meal.

Beth and Jackie -- So sorry for your Internet woes! I feel so shut off when it doesn't work :grouphug:

I need to get dressed and get everyone moving toward breakfast -- a yummy Vitamuffin and a banana for me, with a delicious cup of red rooibous tea!

Hey Lean Meaners!

Maria - I just go by my weight on the Wii Fit. I'm not sure how accurate BMI is. I know a lot of people who use the Wii Fit who are "obese" but I don't really think so. Have you tried the Lotus Focus game yet? Your dinner tonight sounds really yummy (and healthy)!

Debra - I went to see Harry Potter this weekend with DF. He was thoroughly confused not having read the Half Blood Prince. He kept asking what exactly the plot was suppose to be. Hope your Internet connection is fixed soon! Are you keeping up with your pills and pilates ;)

Beth - I guess you had heavy rain too. How did your basement clean up go? Ours is slowly drying out but a lot of the muddy water ended up on a section of the carpet. Yecch! The cleanup wasn't as bad as the smell.

Jackie - Hope this week goes better for you! Planned menus make it so much easier to eat healthier. Tell DH to get on the Internet situation :) Joking!

Sarah - The cake wasn't too bad! Unfortunately, I didn't find it too sweet but I think I will probably stay away from it (assuming there's any left) until Friday. Glad to hear Bailey's doing better! How's your workout challenge coming along?

Wendy - I found a really great app for the iPhone that's called Lose It! which keeps track of your exercise and the foods that you eat. I haven't had too much time to look at other programs but just love that I can now check e-mail at work. I really didn't like using work e-mail for personal stuff. How did the visit with the missionaries go?

Cindy - Don't feel too bad about the weight gain. I think it's hard not to gain on vacation. Hopefully it was just water weight and the scale will move downwards on Friday. How was your vacation anyway? :)

AFM- So the morning gals in the group will be proud of me. I woke up early this morning and was out the door at 7AM for my 3 miler. I know it's not super early but I figure it's a good start. I know once the mileage starts increasing I'll have to get out around 6AM. There were quite a few other people out there this morning so it was nice not being "alone" :) Ran the route at an easy 10:50 pace.

I almost forgot! I did the same route on Saturday in under 30 minutes! That's a record for me! I usually run it in about 32-36 minutes. I saw my dad before I left for my run and saw him when I came back and I think I even surprised him. He said "What are you doing back so soon?" Ha-ha!

Aside from the basement flood, it was a pretty good weekend. Went out for a birthday dinner and brunch! I really watched what I ate but I did eat some refined sugar so hopefully the weigh in will go well this Friday. I watched Harry Potter which I thought was so-so. It's funny how grown up the actors look now.

So that's all for now! Have a great day everyone :wave2:

Vicky -- I took ds to Harry Potter on Saturday. I could have done without all the teenage lovelife angst (and so could ds), but I guess they had to address it somewhat, with Harry being 40 and all...That's what my dh said -- isn't he about 40 by now?! LOL
It definitely felt like a #2 of a 3 parter to me. The main purpose seemed to be to set you up for the big finale. Yesterday I just did some strength training on the Wii Fit. Today I'm going to try the yoga.

Hey guys! I am on vacation (currently in Cleveland), on my way to Chicago!

Sorry to have dropped off the thread. My home internet is so screwed up! It may be time for a new computer too.....ours is ancient. It's constantly 'down' and causing me a headache.

Packing and all the basement drama has taken it out of me.....wow. I wasn't even looking forward to vacation. And, on a sadder note, we lost our hamster Pip the day before we left. She was fine the day before, but I found her struggling to the water bottle and she ended up dieing in my hands. We had her for 4 years and was a treasured member of the family. I know that most people don't get wrapped up in their 'rodent' pets, but not in my family. She was a sweet little thing, and will be missed terribly.

Last night was dinner at a Brewery in Cleveland! It was really good. I ate well, not good but well! I had a mushroom risoto that was awesome! Stuff I normally don't eat of course! I am going to be better today though!

Hope everyone is well! I'll check in later!

Beth

Sorry MIA lately and am way behind as usual. However, I finally have something to report. Down 3 pds!!!!! I officially started a week ago today but had a really bad weekend and didn't get my act together till Monday so I figure 3 pds in 4 days not bad. Also I am on day 4 of NO PEPSI.....that is my addiction!!!!

Hope you are all doing well!!!!

Good Morning, Lean Mean Brigade!

I did 4.5 mi this AM, and the WiiFit for an hour last night. I will be working hard to hold it together for tomorrow's weigh-in and my traditional downfall, Friday night  Things seem to be moving in the right direction, but I still have some pounds to go to get back to where I was before vacay in June. Lesson learned -- no, you can't eat like cro magnon man and then expect to keep off or lose weight :sad2:

Beth -- I'm so sorry for your loss. Our furry friends are family members, and it hurts terribly when they leave us. I love risotto. It's not something we make at home, so I have been known to order it in restaurants :rolleyes1 I hope you are able to relax after your trying time before vacation, and really enjoy your trip!

Kim -- So great to hear from you! Soda is hard to give up. I swore I wouldn't, but then made myself give up the regular stuff. I don't actually drink much of the diet anymore. These days I'm drinking homemade citrus water. We cut up a lemon, lime and orange and add them to a pitcher of water. Very tasty, and I'm not adding any sweetener. :thumbsup2

Shoutouts to everyone else! I will be writing all day at work, so I'll probably have a break or two to read the DIS. :surfweb: I have to give myself a break every once in awhile, or I start to produce drivel.

Hi Maria!!!! Been so long since we chatted. WTG on the workout!!!!!! and PD for weight in tomorrow. My friends and I picked Thursday as a weight in day cause we are all arriving for Marathon weekend on the Thurday which will be 23 weeks today:scared1: If I stick to at least 2pds a week I will be OK.

When are you getting to disney?

Hey Kim!

We will also arrive on Thursday! I'm not sure when yet, I haven't looked into booking our tickets. I just found out my BIL (dh's stepbrother) and SIL are coming to do the 5K, so we want to arrive early enough to visit with them and make sure they're ready for the race. They've never been to marathon weekend before, so we're excited. DH's sis and her dh are coming on Friday and doing the Half with us (ok, at the same time as us!). It's also their first marathon weekend. I think we talked it up so much, now everyone wants to go!

Anyway, we'll probably arrive earlier on Thursday. Last year we came in around 5, I'm hoping to get a flight so we'll be there in the early afternoon, since we'll be able to hang out with them even if our room isn't ready yet.

Maria :upsidedow

That's great, Maria.....I love first timers!!!!!

I always try to get in early I have the flight booked in and we arrive just after 10 AM....waiting for SW to release the next set of dates so I can get home:goodvibes

Hey Lean Meaners,

Finally back and sorta recovered from vacation. It sounds like everyone did fantastic with the challenge!!

Despite eating my weight in wicked sharp VT cheddar cheese and VT pepperoni, not to mention the drinks, it looks my gain over vacation was maybe about 2 pounds. way less than I thought.

My 8 miler in Stowe, VT was absolutely fantastic. It was about the same distance as TOT and I beat my time by about 7 minutes! Scenery was so pretty. And the free beer was great of course!! I will be back to post pictures.

And in other HUGE news, as of 8/24, I will be employed again. Great pay, 5 weeks paid time off, and is with a stable organization that is expanding in this sorta craptastic economy.

I will be off to see HP this weekend. I always prepare myself for movies made from books to be not so great, so usually I am not too disappointed.

Hello Lean Meaners! Just a quick drive by today. I weighed in yesterday and was up 1.3 pounds :headache: I thought I was being good with the cake and Chinese food but I guess I had eaten more than I should have :rolleyes1 I also had tougher workouts this week at the gym to compensate so I don't know what happened. Oh well, I guess I'll do my best to fix it for next week's weigh in.

Kim - Good job with the 3 pound loss :banana:

Maria - Yeah I was trying to figure out their ages in HP. I always thought it was kind of weird that they're drinking beer in high school.

Amy - Congrats on the job!

Okay, that's all for me! Have a great weekend everyone!
