I have officially begun worrying about the wedding dress situation. Not worrying, exactly, but I'm definitely...concerned. You know the drill: don't want to have too much tummy showing or baggy arms or...whatever.

I made a list today of all the things I'm going to do better for the next few months (permanently, maybe, if it works out): eating more veggies, taking vitamins, using a moisturizer (hey, the face has to look good too, right?), drinking lots o' water, cutting down on snacks, etc.

I think I've thought of a good system to keep us all (hopefully) motivated and on track. Every day, when you log on, tell us all something good you did today. "Everyone else had a piece of cake at the office, but I said no thank you!" "I took the stairs at the mall instead of the escalator!" "I remembered to floss my teeth today!" I figure with us encouraging ourselves and each other, we can all feel good about ourselves, regardless of our personal goals.

So I'll go first: Tonight I felt like having milk and cookies but drank an entire glass of water instead!

Who's next?? :cheer2:

What a positive way to think about becoming fitter! :thumbsup2 I've found that setting non-"weight" related goals really helped me along the way. (So for example, every weekend I would go running with my dad and we'd add another 10 mins onto the run. So this was an attainable goal that I felt really good about each weekend instead of agonizing over why the scale wasn't moving) And this is a great way too....so I'll add on.

I'm not using exams as an excuse not to workout. I hauled my butt to the gym today. :teeth:

I have been going to the gym around 3 times a week and have been cutting down on snacks and eating grilled chicken and fresh steam veg and so far since tuesday last wk I have lost 7lbs! :)

I still have a way to go but am setting myself realistic goals that I can acheive.

Also my stepmother has given me some slimming patches which I am trying as of today not sure about these but I will give them ago. You can find them on www.slimngo.co.uk

Good luck

Nicci

Yay for ForKeeps going to the gym!

Today I...
...lifted weights this morning.
...took my vitamin like a good little girl.
...put on my new SPF moisturizer.
...drank two bottles of water (so far).
...had a Lean Cuisine for lunch instead of going out to eat with a co-worker.

Who else did something they're proud of today?

I have started going to the gym on my lunch hours and I signed up for salsa lessons once a week. Today I ate a healthy breakfast and lunch and I worked out for an hour at the gym here at work. I am finally starting to get motivated. Thank you ladies!

great motivators everyone! I have a big problem with continuous SNACKING! esp. at night while watching tv etc. so I have started having a 9:00 cut off time where I don't do anything but drink water after that time of night, and then I'm good and hungry for a healthy breakfast in the morning! :thumbsup2

For all those evening snackers (including myself) I highly reccomend low-fat popcorn (like 98% FF) . It is great - salty and a little crunchy and is a reccomend snack on Weight Watchers. I love it and can eat a whole bag without feeling guilty.

Snacking options are a good thing. I'm trying to limit myself to sugar-free jello or pudding. I think we're doing great so far!

In keeping up with my daily updates:
Last night I...
...slept in my workout clothes so I would have NO EXCUSE not to exercise this morning.

This morning I...
...ran 1.5 miles on the treadmill! Hooray!

Just now I...
...signed up for a 5k on 2/3/07. I've never run one before so I have to start training now. I figure this will really keep me on task if I'm training for a specific event.

Who else did something fabulous today?

I had a salad for dinner the last few nights.

Haven't ate any bread.

Starting to use Proactive.

I can almost zip my dress up already.

I feel much better.

This is a great thread.

Ok, I didn't really do anything good today but I wanted to join in and get some motivation. Tomorrow's a new day and I will have a good thing to report (as I'm sure the huge bowl of salsa and sour cream I had today isn't considered a good thing :teeth: ). Keep up the good work ladies!!

Princessdisneybelle, I'm so proud of you for your dress-zippage (yeah, I know that's not a word). I know you were worried about that. But you have six whole months! Siz months of salads and you'll be good to go (you may feel like a rabbit, but you'll look like a million bucks!).

And...I am officially in freaking out mode. We are getting married 3 months from Saturday and I just tried on my dress...I'm not near zippable yet...I was when I bought it, and when it came in, I just seem to have put on some happy, in love pounds since last December...keep those motivational tidbits coming...I can't be the only one who needs them!!!!!! :sad2: Where is the weightlifting smilie? Or a smilie on an eliptical machine?!?!?!?

Hmm...motivational + ellipical = I have a confession. I've been listening to Spectromagic on my MP3 player for the past month and a half on all of my elliptical expeditions. It's amazing....right in the middle of a hard interval there I am smiling away.... :teeth: it's actually made all the difference in changing the way I view that tortuous machiene (imagine what I thought of it before Spectro)

I'm writing back to back law exams right now so I can't say I've done anything "good", but I also haven't had time to not be good either. So I guess that's still positive

Blasting Disney music while getting ready for a Disney wedding. Genius! I think I'm going to have to bust out my Disney "best of" volumes and start Disneying out while I'm working out!

Keep it up, ladies! We can all reach and surpass zip-able!

Update:

This week I...
...briefly fell off the wagon and ate some of the yummy chocolates that have been sent to our office.
...foresee more little slips at the Christmas party tomorrow night!

On the plus side, I...
...have gotten up every morning to either lift weights or run on the treadmill, eat eggs for breakfast, and drink plenty of water.
...have been trying to eat small snacks every few hours to reduce gorging on said yummy office snacks.
...decided on my offician and bouquet for the wedding.

Hooray! Any one else proud of themselves this week?

Ok ladies here is my "proud of me moment this week" I went to salsa class last night and then went to a birthday dinner. I was almost force fed chocolate cake (my favorite) but I did not do it!!!!! I sat there drinking my 12th glass of water while the whole party ate the chocolate cake!!!! I am so happy! :goodvibes

Congratulations!! Your wedding cake will now taste twice as good!

Belle, that's very impessive. Even more so since I did not do as well at the Christmas office party as I thought I would.

And yesterday we went to Epcot's Coral Reef restaurant. When I mentioned we were celebrating our engagement, they brought out this delicious concoction of milk chocolate, white chocolate, chocolate mousse ice cream, and white chocolate fudgey ice cream. DELICIOUS. Sad to say, I had no willpower and ate it all. :lmao:

But I did manage to wake up this morning and lift weights. And we hit both Epcot and MGM yesterday, so that was a LOT of walking. That counts for somethng, right? :teeth:

Keep it up, ladies!

That it so true! Just because you had one slip up means nothing afterall you got up today and worked it!!!! I am trying to get myself together to eat healthy but we have too many good things in my way...Now instead of eating huge amounts I have a taste of the things I normally would eat a box of...I am sure everyone knows we are hardest on ourselves....Tonight I am going to convert my final Christmas shopping into a workout... Four laps around the mall it is!!!!!
