I have been reading a lot about people being concerned about their weight and being able to go on the rides and US/IOA. Are there really weight limits for the rides? I never heard of this at Disney and We haven't been to US/IOA in forever. I am getting concerned about DH. While not really overweight, he could stand to lose a few pounds :) I would say he is about 6 feet tall and 235 pounds. Should would be concerned he can't get on some of the rides?

I am the exact same size and rode everything 2 yrs ago with no problems.

There aren't weight limits but limits to the size for restraints on a few rides. Your husband should be fine though. Disney's rides are different than some of the high speed coasters and robotic arms on some of the rides at Universal and Islands of Adventure.

I would think that would be uncomfortable for the people working there? Are there signs like disclaimers prior to entering the ride? Or will they basically tell a person they are too big too ride? Seems the whole thing could get uncomfortable for people.

The TM who was 'manning' the ride while we were there was quite large. Apparently it's not too uncomfortable for them, maybe the big bonus checks help:). Apparently a LOT of the Universal staff are former Disney CM's from what we were told at a conference. I would think anyone working at a theme park is trained to handle situations with diplomacy and tact. Sometimes a person has to do something they aren't totally comfortable with, but it's part of the job and has to be done. Plus there are notices that address rider limitations and the test seats outside of the various rides are a good indication.

The rider can always act like they chickened out? To ME anyway, the rider would probably feel more uncomfortable since the TM can't do anything about the person's size?

It's difficult apparently for some taller, long legged people to ride some of the Disney rides, I guess it's just one of those things that people have to deal with:confused3.
