Weight Gain?

You can't worry about it. I go on the cruise to have a good time. Part of that are the wonderful meals. But then I probably ate too many Krispy Kremes at Topsiders during the last cruise also.
I also tried to walk/jog each morning and used the weights 3 times during the week. Some people swear by only using the stairs.
To answer the question though, I gained 10 pounds during our last 7 day cruise. I'd like to blame it on Erin who was at our table and she usually "sampled" two of the desserts. But actually the weight gain was my fault and it dissapeared within a week of arriving home.

7 day western cruise with Payton-2002

Some people claim that there's a woman to blame,
but I know that it's my own danged fault

(can I say danged?)

I was told explicitly by our server and our assistant server that there is absolutely no calories, fat or carbohydrates in any of the food or beverages served on the Magic. This was confirmed by other CMs as well.

Therefore all weight gain (including the 7 pounds that I gained) can only be explained as accumulated pixie dust.

ROTFLOL!! :teeth:

"Accumulated pixie dust"....that's going to be my story too....and I'm sticking to it...and it to me....;) :)

I went on the 4 night Wonder. I gained about a pound. That wasn't so bad. The problem was, after I got back home I wanted to continue eating all the time like I did on the cruise. I think my body was searching for that wonderful food instead of what was in my cabinets. I just couldn't be satisfied. So I had to rebook or else weigh a ton.

I like acculumated pixie dust, cause otherwise I'LL be coming home naked! ( no clothes will fit!):(

Our first cruise I was 6 months pregnant and ate whatever I wanted. Gained atleast 5 pds on a 3 day cruise. On our second cruise I didn't weigh myself but I know I gained something just by how tight the waist was on my pants!

Well, when I cruised last summer, my wedding was on day 6. I still fit in my dress, although I didn't breath too deeply! ;)

Seriously, I know I gained. We did go to WDW, so I probably walked "some" of it off.

I was shocked to find that on one of our 3 day cruises I lost 2 pounds. Don't know how! On my 7 day I gained 5. My husband had his police physical the Tuesday after our 7 day cruise and was put on a special diet because they freaked out over his cholestral increase! He went for a re-test a few months later and it was back to normal! Lesson here...no physicals following your cruise! I have been reading the boards heavily for the past two weeks in prep for our Sept. 11 cruise and I have ALREADY gained 3 pounds!
:confused3

No!! Not Krispy Kremes. Why do they have to have Krispy Kremes??? I have been doing Weight Watchers since January and have lost 53 pounds. Just yesterday, I walked into the lunch room and saw two KK doughnuts sitting on the table and had to turn around while my friend removed them from my sight.

Hopefully I'll be down 90 or so by then and can afford a doughnut but I had vowed I wouldn't eat one until my goal (120 pounds off) so we'll see how I hold up (not like I'm going to pass up desserts).

On my first (non-Disney) cruise this year, I gained 3 pounds (7 day cruise plus 2 days in LA and 3 days at Disneyland) so I was pretty impressed. I tried not to eat bread and butter but kept hearing everyone rave about the bread so I broke down on day 3 and soon my assistant waiter was always hovering with the bread basket!! Of course, the butter was cold so I ended up using twice as much as if it had been soft!!

It sounds like a lot of you have lost weight before your cruise. I was wondering what you did about finding summer clothes in winter to fit your new body? I am worried I won't be able to find shorts or a new swimming suit!

I lost 24 lbs before the cruise. And i gained 6 lbs on our 7 day cruise. We just got off the ship a few weeks ago, so now i'm back on my diet.

That is a challenge. I'm expecting to be down two sizes from now until the cruise. I'm hunting for sales....clothes cheap enough that if I get the size wrong, it won't be devastating. Plus I'm waiting until the very end of the summer to get a better idea if I am on track with my weight loss. I bought one bathing suit that fits but has to stretch to fit and another than is a size smaller....they were real bargains so I'm not worried about it that much.

However, I also sew so I can make any last minute clothes if I judge totally wrong.

If your plan is just to lose enough weight before the cruise to accomodate weight gain, then you could always just buy one size smaller or even consider things like drawstring waists so you can tighten up when you are smaller and let the strings out if you gain from the food.
