Weight Gain on Dining Plan?

MYSELF- gained 5 pounds
DH- gained 4 pounds
DS10- gained 3 pounds
DS6- gained 2 pounds

I was the big GAINER!!! I never eat as much as I did there!!! The food was great, the desserts were even better. I had no self control. We ate at wonderful restrauants each night and ate the full courses offered. I should have taken more clothes with elastic waistbands.
 
I have been back on the "diet wagon" since Easter sunday and have lost 33 pounds and 14 inches- this is do to my dieting and intense workout almost every day. Last year we enjoyed the free dining plan and this year we are going back for more. I am not really worried about gaining anything and still plan on eating what I want. For snacks I choose a bottle of water over bad stuff, lol. I still drink my ton of water while I am at the world and if I gain any of the weight that I have lost I am not worried about it. When I get home I will go back on my diet and the pounds will melt away. Sometimes it is good to eat more once in awhile when you are dieting because it actually speeds up your metabolism- just don't over do it and you will be fine....
 
We just got back, I gained 2 pounds, Dh 3 pounds and DS(14) 6 pounds. However we never ate breakfast because we were still stuffed from supper. We were in Disney for 11 nights 12 days.
 
Returned two weeks ago and lost one pound. We were on the DDP (paid for it; WELL worth it), and we ate whatever we wanted. I agree with the other posters that it didn't add any weight because of all of the walking and heat!
Definitely plan to use DDP again as long as it's available.
 

I never have gained. I think it is all of the walking. I am leaving in 20 days and can't wait for all of the food.

But heck, i've lost nearly 50lbs in 4 months, i plan on scarfing my food as fast as its given to me. I do sorta plan on gaining 10lbs, and will be more than pleasantly suprised if i dont (but like i said i can lose 10lbs in 2 weeks :) )


Hi Nurseypoo - I also have PCOS (not diabetic) and gain very easily. I lost 31 lbs on Atkins prior to our trip but had decided that I would eat anything I wanted on the trip.
I ended up gaining 8 lbs in 10 days (8 of free dining). I think I could have gained less had I drank my usual amount of water. I'm not too worried about it - starting today I'm back to low carb and expect it to be off in a week.

DH ate way more than I did and only gained 5 lbs! Not fair! DS11 gained 2 lbs and I'm sure DD9 gained nothing.

I gained 2.5 pounds, but I ate dessert at every meal, but didn't force anything if I was full. I would never indulge this much at home, but it was a vacation. The trick is getting back to healthy eating at home!
 
we ate on the DDP last spring. I'm a dancer so I had to be very careful not to gain weight so I brought my scale to be safe. I tried to order healthier items (but still wonderful!) at many of the restaurants (salmon, chicken, etc). We used our counter service for breakfast and used our snacks to buy bottles of water. In the end of a 3 week vacation (which was also spent with family in Boca) I only gained 2 pounds. However, this is because I normally work out constantly so the walking didn't effect me as heavily as it would for others.
 
We paid for the DP last June...we ate & ate. I was CONVINCED that I had gained 5 pounds or more. But nope..when I got home & weighed I was the same.

Must have been all the walking because we never eat that much dessert & rich food!
 
I'm just back and I gained 6 lbs for a 6 night stay. I seem to always gain 1 lb per day on vacation so this was the norm...actually less since we had 1 day on either end of the trip as a travel day. However I started the trip higher than I usually do too. If I had been at my goal weight Im sure I would have gained more.

Since I usually work out daily at home, the walking we do in WDW is actually less than I would do at home and at a less intensity so that doenst help me much.
 
I'm one that puts on weight pretty easy. I didn't gain any weight on my 6 day trip with free dining. I probably didn't gain weight, because I walked aorund so much every day.

Breakfast
I ate a bagel or some eggs for breakfast.

Lunch
I ate a salad, hamburger or pizza. I would eat 1/2 the dessert.

Dinner
I ate what I wanted. I would share my appetizer with my children. Although most times they would just eat my appetizer. I would eat dessert, but one night I was so full I didn't even eat dessert.

Snacks
Our snack credits we mostly used at Breakfast.

Drinks
I only drank water or iced tea.

I was actually surprised that I didn't eat more than I did. I didn't even get a Dole Whip. I was just so hot that I didn't feel like eating. I did eat an almond pastry from France one night. That dessert I didn't share. It was so good. I wish I had one now. I do find myself craving sweets more than I did before the trip.
 
We were there 8-26 thru 9-2 ... 7 days of WDW & free dining. I weighed myself & gained NOTHING!! I think all the walking & sweating helped keep things under control.

And I pigged out!!
