Wegmans Supermarket

Anyone out there who live's in the Northeast and has ever worked for Wegmans? I am about to accept a full time job with them and was wondering how people really felt about the organization. I know that they were ranked #1 by Forbes magazine as the best place to work...so that to me says allot. Any insight you can give me?

A neighbor of ours works there as a manager and loves it.
I can't comment any further b/c I dont shop there-way too overpriced.

Really? Around here, I often get the best deals at Wegmans. I guess it depends on what the competition is in any given area.

There is a Wegman's in our area and we love it! My friends husband works there and really enjoys it. He says that it is a great company to work for. Good luck!

I've worked for Wegmans for almost 15 years, I've been full time for 10. I love the company, and I love my managers. I can't believe that they are too high priced! In this area they have the lowest prices and deals out of the stores in the area, (except for maybe a Super Walmart and I don't step foot in those stores unless I have no choice)

Any questions that you have feel free to ask me, around my house I am known as the Wegmans cheerleader, I am so sappy about the company. I think what says a lot is that I was self employed before I worked for Wegmans and I would NOT stick around a job I didn't like.

What store are you thinking of working at? (if that is not being to nosy)

Fortune magazine each year lists the best companies to work for - and Wegmans is usually at the top - I believe they were number one this past year! You could google to find the articles! Good luck!

You are correct, They were #1 for 2005. They have also been in the top 20 since Fortune Magazine started the list. It really says allot about a company. It's nice to hear from the "real" folks too! LOL!!!
