Weekly Bike Rental

Hi All,

Does anoyone know of any options for weekly bike rental in the Orlando area? I'm thinking kind of like the service provided by A Baby's Best Friend or Children's Furniture Rental, but for bikes instead of strollers, cribs, and baby gear. Does such a thing exist??? What do most tent campers do if they want bikes at FW? Esp. folks who fly and tent?

I've never seen weekly bike rentals at a reasonable price. What I've seen folks do at other locations (not sure how this would work at FW if you have no car) is buy bikes at WalMart and give them to Goodwill at the end of the week. I even know some handy folks who buy bikes at Goodwil then donate them back.

Ditto the Wal-mart. I think it would be nice to find a fellow DIS'er that will be arriving the day you are leaving and give it to them then that DIS'er can give it to another DIS'er when they leave and etc. I've seen a thread on another forum that's doing this with a refrigerator.

Is there such a thing? We were thinking of renting a couple of bikes the week we are at our cabin. I know they can be done on an hourly or daily basis, but haven't seen anything about weekly rates.

No, there's no weekly rentals. They don't even have overnight rentals. Bikes must be returned before the bike barn closes...usually 5:00ish. For the cost of the rental during your stay, as someone in another thread suggested, just purchase some cheap bikes from the local Wal-mart and donate them (either to another camper or Good Will/Salvation Army, etc) at the end of your stay. With so many similar posts I've seen about this, I think someone should do a Bike Swap here on the DIS.

Thank you Tent Camping Mom & Ft. Wilderness Guy for your responses. I never even thought about buying and donating, that's a great idea and the Bike Swap is a terrific idea too. Hmmm... I agree that TCMom should start the swap or perhaps Ft. Wilderness Guy would be willing to share that sweet little ride of his (50cc of all Japanese motor)
