I have such a hard time on weekends. I'm sure many of you are with me on this.

This weekend I used every one of my flex points and every one of my exercise points!!! I know that's not officially cheating because I didn't go over my points, but I still feel bad. I wouldn't mind if I had splurged on a big meal, but I used all those points just picking at cookies one at a time.

I do fine if I don't even eat one cookie or sweet, but I have a hard time with control. At least I controlled to the point of staying in points. This was one reason Atkins did work for me because I couldn't even have one bite of sweets.

I do have to say that I love the Flex points program. Even after having a not so good weekend I still don't feel like I've "blown it". Now I have to make it until Thursday on 20 points a day. But during the week this isn't so hard.

Any body else struggle with weekends? How do you cope? I tried everything. I snacked on cucumbers. I kept busy to distract myself. I drank tons of water. The cookies still got me in the end!

Weekends are hardest for me too. I get my new set of flex points on Mondays so I try to save most of them for the weekend. Thought I really blew it big time when I went out with some girlfriends this weekend and had fetuccini alfredo. Major points hog but worth it as it was fresh made and wonderful. Made it a little harder on Sunday watching the Nascar race as that is when I tend to snack the most. I made it through the week with 3 flex points left! That's why I love the flex points system so much.

Weekends are the worst for me too - that is why I weigh in on Monday morning - it keeps me on track a bit knowing I have to get on the scale.

I try to always have a bottle of water with me - and drink that before I eat. Helps sometimes

Have a great week1

Well, weekends for me are killers as well. Usually it's in the summer, but then there's football in the fall and of course the holidays are right there, and on it goes. So, what I do now is I don't bring temptation into my house. Yes, I have children, but they don't need it either. If we want snacky food, it's popcorn, sugar free stuff or, if only the real thing will do, we go outt and get it. Usually, the going out doesn't appeal to anyone so we just skip it. (kind of like taking the credit cards out of your wallet, to avoid impulse buying)
My kids have an awful lot of homework, and, therefore spend much time in the house on their butts! We need no extra empty calories, when it is nearly impossible for them to be outside as much as they should be for kids their age. (not to mention, the crap that the school lunch program feeds them! I an about ready to start packing their lunches again. How about french fried chicken fingers with cheese sticks, chocolate milk and ice cream? Pair that with gym for a total of 1.5 hours/ week and 40 mins. of recess tops/ day, and you can see why I don't keep crap in my house.)
I do know what you mean about the cookies. DD made corn muffins yesterday and left them on the kitchen counter and I absentmindedly snagged 2! Probably better than cookies, but those temptaions are thee and even though I didn't go over my limit either, those muffins were 200 calories I could have done without!

Keep the Faith!

First of all, congratulations for staying within your points!
Maybe it would help if during the week you started to plan what you'd like to spend your flex points on. A meal at a favorite place that might require extra points or a special DEVINE dessert. By devine I mean something 'real' like homemade cookes instead of packaged, low-fat/sugar free chemically altered cookie-food. Then use the delayed gratification trick, "No thanks, I'd rather have a (fill in the blank) with my Sunday supper". I've been using that trick a lot to stay on plan till my WDW trip. When offered treats at work (which seems to happen daily!) I say, "No thanks, I'd rather have a zebra dome".
You can always ask you family to hide the cookies!:smooth:

Congratulations on staying within your points!! Good for you!! Weekends used to be a killer for me too. I'd actually dread them!! What I have done, and this may sound odd, but I changed my mind about them. I look at them as the days that I really, really push myself -- since I am at home. I exercise twice as hard and really use the days as the days that I really concentrate on my weight-loss. I know with your Flex points, you can eat yummy things like cookies, but if you're like me, somedays I cannot have JUST one cookie, so I don't even bother...lol. I hope this helps you. Take care. :-)

I am really glad this topic came up! I have been using all of my flex points and sometimes even going over a few on the weekends. I always have a party, shower, wedding, etc. to go to and the points add up quickly at those events...sometimes I even loose track. I feel like the weekends are the reason that I am not progressing faster with my weight loss. I always loose weight when I go to WW on Thurs. but I feel that it has become a minimal loss and not enough to reach my Nov. goal. I do great during the week but all of these parties are killing me on the weekends. I am in the same boat as you PAdisMom!

Ugh, weekends are hard for me, too! Sometimes I wish I could go to work on the weekends so I could not be as tempted but then I realize I just wished to work more and I laugh really hard at the ridiculousness of it...

Anyway, (LOL) this past weekend I did a lot better b/c I have been reading Dr. Phil's book and although I really don't like Dr. Phil, I do think what he has to say makes sense and I've known it all along, deep down, but I'm reinforcing it now since this book came out. One of the keys to sucess in weight loss is to keep things out of your house that are problem or "trigger foods" for you. My BIL came over this weekend and he loves doughnuts so I bough doughnuts but I didn't have a one. Now I do love doughnuts, but I've recognized that they aren't a trigger food for me so I stayed away from them. Now I shouldn't have even had them in the house, true, but I made him take them home so they were out when he was out, LOL. But back to the point (I'm babbling), on the weekends, I find it hard when I have food in the house that I can't seem to stop eating. So I get them out. If I want to eat, I do something else (like paint, read, go online, etc.). Maybe sit down and figure out when on the weekends you lose control a bit and figure some "alternate activity" to do. If you're at a party, when everyone's eating, be the "picture taker" for everyone else so your hands are busy doing something else besides picking at the goodies! You catch my drift.

Weekends are hard for me, but slowly, I'm learning ways of getting control of them. :) I know you can, too.
