As it's coming up to the 180 day mark I am desperately trying to get some sort of rough plan in place for what we are going to do on a day by day baisis so I know where and when I want my ADRs :surfweb:

I've heard that all the parks are busier on the weekend so have tried to avoid them at the weekends but was wondering what KSC is like at the weekend? Is it really much busier?

Also trying to work out what to do on Oct 31st. We will already have been to the MNSSHP earlier in the week, but will have DD (8) & DS (7) with us who will no doubt want to actually do "something" on Halloween evening itself. Has anyone any ideas of where we could go and what we could do?

Thanks

Luv Suzy

Downtown disney does a trick or treat event on the 30th and 31st - maybe have a look into that.

Another idea if you have a car is to vivit a pumpkin patch - choose one and decorate it.

Thanks :goodvibes
We will have a car so the pumpkin idea is a good one although we'd have to go out and buy a sharp knife too :)
I just need to decide how we are going to spend the whole of the evening...DTD sounds like an idea. Does anyone else have any other ideas?

I'm 99% sure Boardwalk also holds some Halloween type events every year on the 'village green' too. That'll possible will be quite cosy too as Boardwalk is a DVC resort (aka Home from Home) so it may be a bit more authentic atmosphere to how 'real' Halloween is celebrated - not seen it for myself though so just wildly guessing at that last bit.

Might be worth throwing it out on the DVC forum though as it's even possible that Dis'ers will be organising some Trick or Treat events for their kids that you could get in on (like they do on the Cruiseline)

Because I was curious...and impatient, hehe, I just did a quick search on the DVC forums and this came up on the first page of results. There are probably more if you have the patience to sift through the longer/older threads. It might also be worth poking the Resorts board too in case they lay on some extra stuff, especially at the deluxe ones.

Apparently the Trick or treating at Seaworld was pretty good last year (they mentioned it on the DisUnplugged Podcast around October time) and Downtown Disney is meant to have stuff going on.

DD and I will most likely do Downtown Disney on Halloween night. We will do MNSSHP on another night because I want to avoid crowds on Halloween night. Can't figure out what we're doing yet though! LOL

We might bump into you down at DTD then :goodvibes We're planning to do MNSSHP on the 26th :cool1: and then wander around DTD and maybe the boardwalk on the 31st...thanks to everyone who gave suggestions :goodvibes

Getting a bit nervous about doing my ADRs later this morning....hope I don't forget any! Wish I could just book them all today and not have to ring each day for the ones at the end of the holiday :headache:

We might see you too Suzy - we have booked Fantasmic Dinenr package for 31st October and will probably head to DTD after that.

Where are you staying?

I just noticed we are neighbours back here as I live a couple of miles from Brighton!

LOL so we may bump into you over here or over there! :rotfl2:

We're staying at the ASMo....DD7 and DS6's choice!

We are aiming for MNSSHP 26th aswell. Hoping tues less busy than a weekend.

We stayed in movies last december and liked it. We asked for and got the toy story section which we all really loved, especially DD.

The best place to take the kiddies is to Celebration for halloween, all the houses are decorated so well! and most of the owners will be sitting on the front porch with loads of candy for the kids, its such a good night!

Yep, that was the reason we picked the Tuesday...looks like a few of us might have has the same idea...probably won't be so quiet after all! :rotfl2:

The Toy Story block are "prefered rooms" aren't they? Did you get one without having to pay the supplement?

Ohh that sounds good :) I like the idea of really doing proper trick or treating aorund people's houses...it would make it more "real" for DD and DS iyswim
What time do children in the States go around trick or treating?

Thanks for that idea :goodvibes

we went about 7pm and it was busy then. you'll love it- the americans really pull out all the stops and the houses are amazing!

Yes we paid for preferred (booked with US disney and that was all that was left when we booked).

I think only love bug and mighty ducks are not preferred. I liked the look of love bug and it seemed nearer to the pool/food court than mighty ducks.
