Hi everyone. I am new to these discussion boards and need some advice. I am a FL. Resident Seasonal pass holder (from Miami). My sister wants to go with me and my two kids to Disney the weekend of March 11th. I am a little concerend about the crowds because I heard there is a Cheerleading Competition that weekend and I am not sure if it would coincide with any spring breaks as well...Since Easter is early this year.

We are driving up from Miami on Thursday night (March 10th) and are probably going to MK on Friday (March 11th) and maybe AK or MGM on Saturday (March 12th) and driving back home that Sunday.

Though I go to Disney every chance I can get (just went last weekend for the day with my 5 year old daughter alone)...my trips/experiences have been through "Trial and Error" and I have never gone in March so the crowds have me a little concerned. I have usually gone during "off peak" times.

So how do you think the crowds are going to be that weekend? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. So glad I found you Disney Fanatics....its great to be in such good company. Thanks.

Weekends are always a bit more crowded than weekdays as local people and Florida residents like yourself visit the parks...I really do not think a cheerleader convention is going to really impact the crowd size at all. I have been so many years in March, and frankly we have never been affected by Cheerleaders being there, or any other one single group. If you stay in the resorts if might have more of an impact, but we stay offsite.

We were there the weekend you mention last year and though it got very crowded in the MK we had no other problems, use fast pass and enjoy yourself.... :flower:

I was interested in this also. We are going to be in Orlando from the 12th throu the 17th of March. I think we may plan on spending 1 day at MK (just coming off a Disney cruise). We have always gone Presidents week and last year, I said never again. We just don't enjoy touring with massive lines. Is March one of those peak, peak, times in general? We could go on one of the weekdays. Any input compared to Presidents week?

Thanks
Jenn

We were there last year the 3rd week of March and the Cheerleaders were EVERYWHERE !! We didn't really have trouble with MK, wait times were about 30 min.for most, but MGM and Epcot were a nightmare for the real popular rides. I know we blew off TT and MS as they had 60 min waits and return times were like 7pm at about 10:30am. If your staying on property take advantage of the evening extra hours. That should be a huge help.

We will also be there March 12-18. I have not seen anything scheduled for cheerleaders to be there. Is there a calendar somewhere with this on it?

I'm going to Florida for my son's spring break which is from the 10th - 20th of March. Hope there aren't too many there... So there's a cheerleading thing going on? Is it only for the weekend?
