With our kids getting older we are looking to travel just on school breaks this year. The only time the whole family's schedule lines up is Christmas and Spring Break.

We are looking at doing the days right before Christmas (20-23) OR the Sunday/Monday of Easter week (Easter would be the following Sunday)

The Christmas dates are currently cheaper so we are leaning towards that but we have never done Universal so we are curious if crowds will be about the same or if there is a benefit to one time frame vs. another?

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I love the Universal Christmas decorations! (But we were there closer to Thanksgiving than Christmas, so I can't really speak to crowds at Christmas vs. Easter.)

One thing to check if your kids are Harry potter fans is the Wizarding World schedule - whether there are any special events they would get to see only at Christmastime, or whether there are any early closures for private events then.

I would pick Christmastime. We used to travel often during that week to WDW, and found because the parks often opened early that week, when we paired that with early entry, we could accomplish a lot because most folks just aren't willing to get up that early. Universal also has their holiday parade and Grinchmas that time of year. That said, we've gone during Easter week and it was very doable with the Universal Express pass that came with our hotel. We just took advantage of early entry to knock out Hagrid's and Velocicoaster before the crowds descended on the parks.

Oh - this is a good point. Looks like the Christmas lights on the castle would be perfect for my teens and as far as I can tell - Universal doesn't do separate Christmas ticketed events? We definitely wouldn't want to run into days where the park closes early?
