Week of October 2nd crowds

I am booked for the week of October 2nd. I tried to upgrade to a different resort and noticed that most of the resorts are booked (except for the really expensive rooms). Is something going on? I hate it when it is crowded. Should I wait a few weeks?

I am booked that week also. We are staying offsite for the first time though. The schools here in Arizona are off that week but I was hoping for the best.

The Gartner Symposium is 10/1-10/5 this year. It's an IT convention-type event that several thousand people attend.

It should not affect day time park touring, but nights could be packed.

I knew something was up. I think it is time for a change. We went in May and it was PACKED!!!!

I don't mind it being busy but PACKED is just not as fun.

Many southern schools have fall break that week. The trend has been busier as the years go on. Still manageable, but it's definitely not slow. Add in Food and Wine at Epcot and the Halloween Parties to make the crowds even larger.

Now that my DD is through schooling I'm done with October. It's getting way too busy for my liking.

Our district is off the second week of October, a week later.

Unfortunately, October has just become a very busy time in WDW.
