Week of October 14, 2013...what's going on?

We went to book our vacation for this week, since my DH loves Halloween, and with it being a holiday week, we thought we could do Columbus Day week again like we did this year.

But, we looked at 4 different hotels and all are booked. They are opened the week before and after, but that week, all booked.

Looks like we will do November instead. At least we'll get to see the Christmas decorations. Would Christmas decorations be up the week of november 18, 2013 or should we wait a week later instead?
