Week of Columbus Holiday

How are the crowds for the columbus holiday week. THe 1st week of october?

My favorite time is Columbus Day week. Very low crowds. I think parents hesitate taking kids out so close to the beginning of school. Also, I'm not sure that Columbus Day is a National holiday. Although, this I am not positive of. We have gone a few times this particular week it has always been in the high 70's to mid 80's. We have even experienced it in the high 80's to mid 90's although we were told that was a heat wave, and very unusual.

we always go at that time of year and crowd levels are fine until Sat-Mon of Columbus weekend. Then MK and MGM tend to get pretty busy.... compared to the rest of the time ..... prior to this MK wait times would be 5-20 mins that weekend 40-90 mins. We tend to avoid the parks completely on the saturday opting for a resort day as we just get frustrated by the crowds and non disney behaviour so find this is less stressful, then do Epcot etc on the Mon which can handle the crowds more.

It is a fantastic time of year to go, and we are fortunate that this lands during our school break (our schools head back 08/17 here) and we have a 2 week break from 09/30.
