We are planning a trip to Florida for Christmas break and thinking we might stop at WDW for a day or two on our way home. How busy are the water parks the first week of January? and how busy are the parks? We are thinking one day = water park, and if we can day 2 = parks.

We did do a day a few years ago during March Break.....and I don't ever want to return to the parks when the crowds are so HUGE.

Thank you.

BETWEEN Christmas and NYE, take that Spring Break crowd and double it.

AFTER then - starting the Monday after NY - things should be pretty quiet. Or maybe the Tues this year, if Mon is the legal holiday.

The week between Christmas and new year's Eve is the single busiest week of the year. It makes spring break look reasonable.

Blizzard Beach will be your only water park option. If it's not busy, it's because it's uncomfortably cold. Orlando is unpredictable in the winter. It may be 70 degrees or it may be 35.

Ha! Spring break is a walk in the park as compared to the week between Christmas and New Years.

I went once and to me it was enough!

As PP's have stated Blizzard Beach will the your only option for water park.
If its warm it will be crowded.

Here's a little sneak peak at what to expect lol.

It's super busy. If you want to try then stay on property, get fastpasses at the 60 day mark, and use the extra magic early hour. Don't backtrack; it wastes time.

Think about doing more shows, parades, and fireworks. You should be able to do this with or without crowds.

I am sorry OP but this is the feeling I get when this question is asked :rotfl2::rotfl::laughing::scratchin:scared1:. Christmas week is the busiest of the year.

If you thought Spring Break was bad, then don't even consider the week between Xmas & NYs. We LOVE Disney during that week -- went last year for the first and and are returning this year -- BUT, we were prepared, and had appropriate expectations.

I've been going to Disney at various times of the year my whole life (February, Summer, October, Spring Break). I'm someone who doesn't let crowds and long lines phase me, but the only trip I remember being overwhelmed by the crowds was that week. It was literally wall to wall people, holding your family members in a death grip, CMs directing human traffic with those airplane guiding lights, backstage areas open just to allow people to walk from one part of the park to another. And this was in Epcot, no less, the park with the most space. ALL rides will have lengthy waits (think 45 minutes for Figment). We still had a blast, but it's intensely crowded.
