I know F&W is a popular time for DVCers. What about the week following Jersey Week/F&W/Soap Weekend? Does it slow at all? Is availability at EPCOT resorts still tough that week?

We've been the week after Jersey Week twice and both times we loved it. Crowd were pretty low, temps were not too hot not too cold and Christmas Decorations were all around!!! We're going in Oct this time instead and I'm afraid I'll miss my Nov trip.

Have fun!!!

My husband and I have been doing this week in Nov. for the last few years and love it. I think it's one of the best kept secrets. The crowds from Jersey week have just left and the thanksgiving people haven't arrived yet. It's too bad the FW isn't during it but you can catch the last weekend of it. I've found the availability at the Epcot hotels to be good. I've been able to add on a night at both the BWV and BCV (going with extended family and booked 3 2-bedroom villas) just last week. And yes the weather is usually pretty nice. A few years back it was a little cold but that's only happened to us once.

Last year we were there for most of Jersey week, and the first couple of days of the following week. Boy, what a difference in crowd levels!

My advice is that if you don't have to be there for Jersey week, definitely wait for the following week! If you arrive Saturday, most of us Jersey Week-ers are leaving and that will still give you that one weekend of F&WF; followed by a week of much less crowded conditions.:thumbsup2

We went at the end of Jersey week in November - we stayed at VB for a couple of days and came back to Orlando at the end of Jersey Week. The weekend was crowded, but by Monday am it had emptied out and we had three GREAT days - short waits, not a lot of crowds and lots of fun! Its a great time to go and we still got to enjoy some of the FWF!:thumbsup2

Don't mean to hijack this thread but since we're on the subject, when is Jersey Week? When is soap weekend? I might be planning a trip in November and want to avoid this if possible.

Thanks.

Try this link for special events at WDW:

If you do a search for Jersey Week 2007 you will get more info on that. From what I've read, most of the schools in NJ have off Thursday Nov 8 & Friday Nov 9 so some parents take advantage and head to WDW for a week and the kids only miss 3 days of school.

Some people say it isn't that big of a deal. My thought is...if I can avoid possibly having larger crowds than the following week, then I will change plans by a day or two.

thats the week I'll be there celebrating my 50th birthday!

Fri 11/9-Sun 11/11 mbr cash disc at BCV - end of F&W
Sun-Fri currently booked at VWL, hoping to change to BCV (or BWV) at 7month window
that Tues is my 50th and MVMCP is on both Tu & Th that week

Right now our reservations are Nov 9 -15. Friday the 9th in a studio at OKW (arriving late). The rest of the week in a 2BD at OKW. I, too, was planning MVMCP on Tuesday (our first party). My birthday is actually Sat. the 10th and I was being selfish and wanted to be in the parks on my actual birthday instead of here in the cold or traveling all day. But, based on all that's going on that weekend, I think I am going to change to arriving Sunday the 11th and leaving Sat. the 17th. I'll sacrifice (what's new??? I'm the mom!) so everyone is not complaining about the crowds. I am also going to try to switch at 7 mo window this time since our next planned trip is with extended family and we're going to stay at OKW then.

I am also going to try to get a Wishes fireworks cruise--my little treat for myself for my 40th!
