Week Before Thanksgiving-crowds,weather?

Is this a good time to visit?

We went that week last year and had a great time. We did Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the Christmas trees were up in the parks, Osborne Festival of Lights was going on. The weather was beautiful. The crowds were low -- low wait times for the rides, although things picked up considerably as we got closer to Thanksgiving. The last couple of days felt busy to us. We went and did ICE at the Gaylord Palms -- that was neat.

Last year we visited the week before Thanksgiving and it was an excellent time to go. Not too crowded, and it was hot enough to wear shorts and go swimming every day.

We love going at that time of the year. As the others have said, the weather is nice, but we got a really cold snap while we were there, and really needed warmer clothes. Take some of both because the forecast kept changing on us before we left home. The Christmas trees/decorations are up and the parks/resorts are beautiful. The Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party was a lot of fun, but the ticket to that is extra in addition to the regular park ticket. Our school district has changed Thanksgiving break this year, or I would try to head back down. The parks do pick up in crowds though the closer is gets to Thanksgiving weekend.

My DD and I also did a mother/daughter trip, and we were there the same time as you!


We were there Nov 12-22, and it was perfect. We never waited for anything (except meeting the fairies) It was chilly the day we arrived, but after that, we were in shorts and DD was swimming every day. The day we left was the Sunday before Thanksgiving Day and it was starting to get very busy, but before that, nothing.

We also went last year the week before Thanksgiving. We had Thanksgiving Dinner at Whispering Canyon and packed up the day after to go home. Crowds were starting to pick up on Wed...but it was a vary beautiful time...decorations up, swimming etc...

I was just reading your trip reports. I think we're leading parallel vacation lives!!! Our family did Disney Oct. 25-31, 2008, (the same week as you.) We did a mother/daughter trip Nov. 2009, (the same week as you), and we're going back for our next trip in October 2010, (the week after you.)

I swear we're not following you around Disney!
