Week before Easter discounts???

Next year we have to travel to WDW the week of April 2nd, which is the week before Easter. Have they been offering discounts for this week (week before Easter). I thought last year they offered a 4/3 deal. This year we were able to go two weeks before Easter (April 9th-15th) so I was able to get an AP discount. We will have 6 people so I will need two rooms. If I have to pay rack rate we will not be able to go to WDW. I looked at renting points, but for the week I need, a 2 bedroom is really high. Were there any discounts offered this year for the week before Easter (this week)? Thanks in advance for any feedback.. Maybe I should start shopping around for other places to go next year.

I was there this year for the weekend of Easter and the week after, and there were zero discounts offered for the week prior to and the week following Easter. So we stayed at the Dolphin instead and I won't stay anywhere else now I know two years ago they offered a very minimal percentage off rack room rates that was offered a few weeks before Easter, but nothing for 2011. Hopefully you'll have better luck next year than this year, but if not, definitely check out the Swan and Dolphin's rates...you get a deluxe resort at moderate prices and Epcot and HS are right outside your door!

There's always at least AAA discount. We've always gotten deals/codes when we go over Easter although sometimes we've had to tweak our reservations a day here or there.

your odds are better, the further removed from the holiday the better shot you go. I didn't keep up with it this year but in 2010 there were discounts offered Easter week, they came up pretty close to time like within a month and were FL resident and AP holder discounts. I am about 70% sure there was a public offering but not 100% sure. Various Disney boards regulars including myself were shocked they were offered, it is rare, but attendance was down last year and speculation is that is why they were offered.

According to mousesavers the public offer last year was a gift card promo, room % discount, and kid stay play and dine free visa offer over easter.

I am pretty sure the % discount was blacked out for Easter and then opened up a few weeks prior.
