Week before Christmas

How busy is it the week before Christmas? Thinking of changing from Thanksgiving week since we'll have more time and won't have to drag back into school the day after we drive home!

How busy is it the week before Christmas? Thinking of changing from Thanksgiving week since we'll have more time and won't have to drag back into school the day after we drive home!

I was there Dec. 20-22 last year and yes, it was busy, but I'm used to going during off season. Definitely not anywhere near as crazy as the following week!! This year I'm hoping to do Dec. 16-21, then head to my brother's for a few days.

We were there last Christmas, the week before through the 26th. It gets more and more crowded as the week goes on, but the week AFTER Christmas is even worse. I would say it is crowded but doable. We did MVMCP on the last night it was offered and had a great time/ low crowds. We toured all of the resorts to see the decorations. We made a point of doing all of the special holiday stuff, we can catch all of the regular stuff we missed on the next trip. It was almost perfect, I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Better than the week of Christmas!!! I have done mid Dec. which we LOVED and crowd levels were very low (walked on to Mission:SPACE twice in a row with no line the year it opened) and Christmas week which I couldn't stand. You'll have a much better chance earlier in December and all of the Christmas things are still up.

We went this past Dec. 17-22. We found the crowds to very low. We didn't really have to wait in line for much. Only one day did we find any park to be too crowded, and that was EPCOT and we got there late. We just hopped over to MK and had a great day. I would go that time of year again in a heartbeat. The weather wasn't bad either. There was only one day that was what I would consider to be cold, the rest of week was mild weather.

We have a trip scheduled for December 18-29 this year. I'm planning on getting 10 day passes. I figured the first week we would really try to get all of our touring in, and the second week we would use our passes to pop into the park for as long as we could deal with the crowds and then tour the resorts. We'll be staying at Fort Wilderness in a travel trailer, so we'll have our own little home to relax in. We've been to WDW four times, but never during the holidays. For those of you who have more experience, do you think this is doable/enjoyable?

We were there 12/17-12/26/05 and the crowds were manageable. We really didn't notice the crowds until Christmas eve. It's a great time to go.
