Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

UGH guys - I finally remembered to call Chase because my $50 referral reward STILL isn't showing - the lady I talked to said "well are you sure you used the link? I dont see anything on your account" I said yes and my family member already got their $200 GC for using it - the qualifying purcahse was made way back on 8/4!! She said again, I dont see anything like that on your account. I'll have to escalate this up to marketing and you should hear back within 7-10 business days :(

By the time they figure it out, then apply the dollars which can take god knows how long it could be too late!! I'm so frustrated. I called 3 weeks ago and they said it could take up to 8 weeks and give it some more time.

Ugh I had a busy weekend. Some good, some bad. :offtopic: The worst was that we lost 2 turkeys to coyotes and another was injured. Luckily he seems to be doing well after being treated and we have since rearranged their nighttime shelter situation for better protection. Then we went to a close by restaurant with my parents and nieces and had the worst experience I've ever had at any eating establishment. :sad2: After being there about 3 hours and still only 2 out of 3 kids got their meals and none of the adults did...the owner apologized profusely and said we didn't owe anything, they even said "keep the Groupon for your next visit" but I don't think we'll be back ever, even with a Groupon for a 3 course dinner for 4 to use. At least if we have any bad experiences on vacation, I can just say to DH "Just remember, this isn't nearly as bad as that time at Rosalee's."

On the plus side, DH is working OT this week and possibly for a few weeks. Extra $$ that is much needed! But that means I'll be doing all the chores myself and working on building the permanent poultry pens alone. I guess you can say we're both working OT. Remember how I said life is getting in the way? :p

I did manage to keep up with reading my favorite threads and checking for ADRs at least. I even picked up an Ohana dinner ADR that fits better into my plans, but is still not the optimum fit I'm looking for. And I picked up a couple BOG ADRs that I just happened to see while searching. Those will be up for grabs to someone soon! I need to go through and clean up my ADRs.:surfweb:

My Disney store order arrived and seems I over guesstimated on sizes. Both my hoodies are way too big. This is my fear of online ordering, especially from the Etsy stores that you cannot return to. At least I can send back my Disney order. On the plus side, they sent an extra sleeping shirt that I didn't even order.... I don't think I need 3, so I'll probably send at least one back.

Got my MDE luggage tags in the mail today, just keep inching slowly to Thanksgiving day and when we leave. Just hope my eye is better by then, it's been almost 2 weeks and it's still not okay yet :crazy2:

Sending healing thoughts your way! For once, I don't seem to need them all to myself. ;)

Josh posted an update on holiday merch in the stores already

http://www.easywdw.com/easy/blog/2016-disney-world-christmas-holiday-merchandise/

I'm sorta in love with this and neeeeed it

Do they have dressing rooms in these stores? Since online ordering is risky for me, maybe I'll just say screw it and pay the crazy Disney prices for some shirts while I'm there?

So I just found out that my mother in law is going to have stomach stapling surgery next Monday. 3 weeks before our trip. Now I am worried that she won't be healed enough to go. Thinking I should pay my balance with the CC instead of gift cards just in case there is canceling :guilty:

Sending healing thoughts your way to your MIL too! That is cutting is very close.

PAID. IN. FULL.

no going back now!

:jumping1:

Yay! :cheer2::banana::cheer2::banana::cheer2:

Oh no that is awful :(. I hope they figure it out. $50 is a lot to miss out on :( Did you try being extra forceful and cranky? I hate to be that person but you need those points now for the trip and I would really harp on that and say you won't be referring anyone else, etc, be a pain their butts.

Mine was also sent to marketing and I had the $50 show up just a couple days later, mid-cycle! Don't give up just yet. After the money showed up they also sent a letter via snail mail verifying that we had been credited the $50 rewards.

Oh that does give me hope, thanks!!

I rarely ever buy stuff onli9ne for myself either - I'm shaped like a teenage boy so things tend to not fit me great lol.
Sorry your stuff was too big. I hope you can return/exchange in time!

I have no idea if there are dressing rooms, but you can always buy and try it on in the bathroom then return if it doesnt fit. One thing Disney shops do REALLY well with is returns/exchanges.

That's a good point, thanks! It's a shame we don't have a Disney Store closer than 1.5 hours away. If it comes down to wearing non-Disney clothes that I feel fit me well, or wearing frumpy Disney tee's just because they are Disney, I think I'll just go with non-Disney clothes.

Squeaky wheel gets the oil! I think they count on most people not complaining and then they don't have to give the $50. @Meeko5 i hope you get that money soon $50 is worth complaining!

So my almost 3yo is obsessed with the movie Cars. Obsessed. I was planning on taking a trip over to AoA on a non park day (either Friday early evening after arrival or Saturday between putt putt and early T Rex dinner) so he can see all the cars stuff and take pictures with them...we meant to do this last trip since we were at Pop and could have walked but we ran out of time on our only non park day.

So do you think this is worth it, or will be a waste of time...I know transportation using disney buses will be sort of a pain, but my kids love riding those buses anyway haha. The various transportation was part of the fun of last trip lol.

that's me too! Actually I really need to figure out what tops I'll be wearing. I generally stick with plain old V neck tees. I'm so boring (and cheap!) haha

It is mostly a bunch of cars statues but if your kids love cars then it's probably worth it. You could grab a bite to eat while you are there to make it feel more worth it.

I'm hard to fit because I'm all lower belly and butt right now. So the only shirts I find flattering are cut nice around the neck, tucked under the chest, then flowy the rest of the way down. I don't even know if there's a term for that lol. I'm not a girly girl by any means and at home it's always just plain old T-shirts, usually from Tractor Supply on clearance for $3. I hear ya on the cheap! I splurged for a lot of the extras on this trip, I don't need to splurge on the wardrobe too.

I also have to keep reminding myself that I plan to lose a lot of weight in the near future. I'm about 12 lbs down now, and lots more to go. So do I really want to spend money on clothes that hopefully won't fit after the trip?

I think it's totally worth it, especially if you don't have anywhere else you need to be. We stayed there one night on our first trip and the themeing (gosh, I can't make that word look right!) is fantastic! There are tons of photo ops and you'll feel like you're in the middle of Ornament Valley! :D

Need to do a little ADR clean up. All of the reservations are for 4:

11/27 Akershus 6:45PM
11/29 Crystal Palace 1:30PM
11/29 Teppan Edo at 5:00PM, 6:10PM, 6:20PM (yes I am a hoarder :) )
11/30 Garden Grill at 11:35AM and 2:00PM (see above ;) )
12/1 Tusker House 5:55PM
12/2 Yak & Yeti 4:15 PM
12/3 Garden Grill 12:35PM
12/5 CRT 10:10AM

I'm happy to coordinate if anyone wants these.

Glad to hear it's as cool as the pictures make it look! Is there a playground over there too? Or maybe that's only for resort guests and not gawkers? Lol

I hear you on the being shaped like a teenage boy! I'd be a very scrawny teenage boy! I usually just buy stuff online that I could return in store. (so I could try it out at home and return at the store when it does not fit). Since I work downtown Toronto, I could return almost anything, except for stores available in the US only, ie the Disney store :faint:
