Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

From what I gather the only downfall is you won't be able to see the FP selections once you book them (without their MDE) so just take a pic of what you choose as a reminder :)

We have our MB from last trip, so I'll have DHs phone logged into our other MDE so we can view them if need be, but you can't modify them from the app anyway so it's no biggie not to have access to that.

Good tip!

I just found this thread! We are headed to CBR 11/27-12/3. It will be me, DH, DS7, DS5, DD3 and DS1. We have only 4 park days this trip so our focus will be on new and must do things...like baby's first haircut at the barber shop on main st for DS1 and DD3. This is our 3rd trip in 3 years. Disney holds a special place in my heart as DS1 was "made at Disney" 2 years ago. We weren't sure if we would be able to have more children after losing 1 tube from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy on Christmas Eve 2013. But 2 weeks after returning from our 2013 trip we discovered we were expecting again. Our baby boy took his first real trip to Disney last year when he was 11 weeks old. He did amazing!

Back to the planning...Here is our plan. We are skipping AK this time but might hop over there if ROL is up. We also have free dining package.

Sat 11/26-leave MO, drive 650 miles to Macon, Ga

Sun 11/27- drive remaining 400 miles to WDW with a stop at Walmart. Arrive at CBR in afternoon for swim and QS dinner.

Mon 11/28-PPO at HV with hopes to sign up for JTA. Afternoon break then head to MK for evening fireworks.

Tue 11/29- PPO at BOG with hopes to ride 7DMT before RD crowd. Is this possible on EMM morning? Attempting to spend all day at MK with no break and leave before party. Lunch at Skipper Canteen. QS pizza for dinner at CBR

We'd 11/30-resort day with 530 dinner at Cape May

Thursday 12/1 RD Epcot for AM EMH. 1025 breakfast at Garden Grill. Afternoon break then evening open for ROL or Star Wars fireworks.

Friday 12/2 RD MK for AM EMH. Lunch at LTT. Evening open for ROL/ Star Wars. 5pm barber shop appt, hoping to get this moved to a different day.

Sat 12/3 departure breakfast at ohana. Drive to Cartersville, GA.

Sun 12/4-arrive home and start planning 2017 trip. My dream is to stay at WL but we need some grandparents to come along so we can put some kids in their room! (I doubt we go back in 2017 but I have said that every year we wouldn't return for a while and look at us now).

Welcome! Our goal is 7dmt after our ppo bog too! We were successful last year, but that was before emm, so we shall see.

Just found this thread (way late, as usual!). So excited for my girls' first trip! They are 4.5yo and 2.5yo. DH and I have been to the world a few times, but not since I was pregnant with the 4.5yo. We're arriving 11/25 but spending the first two nights at Vero Beach then moving to CBR for 11/27 through 12/5. Getting nervous about FP day but almost have our ADRs squared away.

Out tentative schedule:

Arrive around noon 11/27. Check in then head to MK for BBB. Take monorail to EPCOT for our Akershus ADR. Hopefully meet Anna/Elsa and if we're really lucky do FEA.

11/28 HS, H&V lunch ADR

11/29 MK, hop to EPCOT for Teppan Edo dinner ADR

11/30 down day, hopefully dinner DAR at GG

12/1 AK, PPO Tusker House

12/2 MK, Crystal Palace lunch ADR

12/3 EPCOT, 'Ohana dinner ADR

12/4 let the kids decide day (probably MK), Sanaa dinner ADR

12/5 MK, PPO CRT leaving MK at noon :(

Welcome to the party :welcome:

I added you guys to the roll call :)

Got a better time for my Teppan Edo on the 30th - now just need Boma adjustments and I'm done with my ADR tweaks :cool1:

57 days to go! Focusing this week on FP choices/times.

Are you planning later in the day FP in hopes of getting a lot of rides in AM before crowds get there, or earlier FP in hopes of being able to book more 4th (and after) FP? What's your FP strategy??

Such a difficult thing to figure out! When FP+ first debuted I did late day passes since you don't really need them in the mornings. After the first time doing that I have always done early morning FP in order to get more later in the day. I think I will do that this trip as well since it is easier to book additional FPs now from your phone. I do remember the last time I went during this week there wasn't as much FP availability later in the day as there was during quieter times of the year (ie: week after Labor Day), but was still able to get at least one more in so it was worth doing the earlier FPs. I am so confused on what to pick because of the tiering...always makes the decisions so difficult!!

I think I'll do a mix. For one Epcot day, we'll make and use all our fastpasses, so they'll probably be spread out a bit. For the others, if I get FEA at 11, I'll book my tier 2s at 9 and 10 so we have a shot at Soarin' or TT after FEA.

For the other parks I think it will just depend on the day. I'm sad that our first 2 days in parks we'll probably miss rope drop because we're either getting in late the night before or we're switching resorts. :(

Just in case it hasn't been mentioned already, Touring Plans currently has Haunted Mansion as closed 11/28-12/2 :sad1:

It is actually re-opening on 12/2. That's going to be my top fast past priority that day! Does anyone think maybe, just maybe, they're putting a holiday overlay on it? Or am I just being way too optimistic?

I was really hoping for a big holiday announcement soon for Disney World. There was a really detailed one for a ton of fun holiday things at Disneyland last week, and I'm feeling a little bummed out by the lack of WDW news... was hoping for something to make up for the loss of the Osbourne Lights.

I would LOVE a nightmare before Christmas overlay like DL gets. LOVE. that is one of my favorite movies of all time. One day I will get to DL for it!

Thanks all for the warm welcome! I'm excited to have a group of people I can bounce ideas off of.

Anyone doing Jedi Training our week? We plan for Monday. I couldn't find a reservation for 6 at HV at 8am so I booked 3 sets of 2. I'm really hoping I can consolidate these into at least 2 ressies.

I missed some discussions this weekend. Did we notice that DHS AND AK were extended to 8PM and 8:30 for the first few days in November? I wonder if that will be indicative of the changes for our week.....I guess even if sunset is early they will do the fireworks later in the evening. Now how does this effect my constantly changing plans? Back to the spreadsheet...

Not having any experience with this Fastpass+ system, I have read different suggestions and looked at several touring plans trying to decide what to do! I'm pretty set with Epcot. If all goes as planned on booking day my FEA will be later and my first two early. My AK Fastpasses will be later and HS early morning. I used a personalized TP for MK and am just not sure about the Fastpasses or the times there. It looks great on paper, but I'm afraid the wait times aren't accurate. They look too good to be true. I think this trip may be a learning experience!

I need to go check and see if they've also extended the dining hours for the restaurants at DHS. THAT could be a game-changer for me.

We're hoping to do JTA on Monday! I don't have a PPO, but I hear that's super helpful. We're going to try to get there early so we can get a decent time. Hopefully they can consolidate those for you!

I reeeeeeealllllyyyy hope DHS is open until 8. That would make my 6 pm H&V dinner reservation just perfect. As of right now if it's a 7 pm close I have to move it.

I think I'm going to try to do the FPs earlier to be able to snag more FP later, at least for MK. At least, that's my plan for now, and that may change multiple times before FP day.
