Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I am trying to decide whether to align plans in TP with what is on my sheet so it could be optimized while there... but wondering if that is overkill.

OK, it is, but so is most of my Disney planning!

I REALLY liked using the lines app with my plans - hitting the "done" and moving it down, and being able to reevaluate when things were off was really nice.

here's my current dilemma - now that nighttime stuff has changed (SW fireworks mainly) we are planning on hopping late afternoons on a few days. So we need to eat earlier to be able to do that. But if we eat dinner earlier, we will have to eat lunch earlier or risk not being hungry by dinner time.

The days we have a 2:45 meal at Garden grill, or a 3:10 at H&V what the hell are we going to do? Last year we ate a quick breakfast in the room then had an early QS lunch around 11, and a TS meal around 5. That worked great. But mealtimes this year are so wonky to accomodate hopping and early nighttime shows since it gets dark earlier...I'm afraid we will have a bunch of QS credits go to waste, or have to eat a QS to tide us over then not be hungry and "waste" a TS credit.

I have a day or two where I have a mid-afternoon or 5:00 pm ADR. At home, we normally don't eat until between 7 and 8. So for those days, I plan on splitting a QS meal around noon, then splitting another QS meal when we get hungry again later in the evening, in the park or at the resort, depending on how late the park is open.

Look what I got!!!

My last ADR....

Anyone want a BOG on 12/2 at 4:50 for 4

I'm so excited! TP texts are working!
I have hope now! Congratulations on finishing your ADR search!

I'm loving all the spreadsheets/daily plans ideas! I have a spreadsheet right now as I'm trying to get a handle on my park days still since I started from scratch again. :) But right now I only consider 11/28, 11/29, and 12/1 as "final" for which parks I'm going to. On 11/30 I'm debating between Epcot or HS first. It seems I need 2 evenings in HS to catch both F! and SW Fireworks, unless they offer 2 times during the 2 EMHs on 12/2. My last 2 days are still completely unplanned! Since I'm way behind on ADRs and I'll be searching for them up until our trip most likely, I'm just listing a couple of my choices for each meal right now. I have days for Universal Studios too, but I'm sure those will be a lot less planned.

My plan is to get this version finalized and it will serve as my quick glance schedule. But I'm still not sure how it's going to work putting in rides & shows in this format, since you can possibly do more rides than just 1 in a 30 minute period, especially early or with FPs. I might end up just blocking off time in each area like "Fantasyland" instead of writing each ride for this version. My ultimate goal is similar to what has been posted already with the more detailed daily plan with map. I'm going to try and make those, but smaller. Maybe 1/2 page front and back. Then print and laminate each day's plan. I think I love creating these planning sheets more than I enjoy the actual planning!

Whatcha looking for? In my checking I can always keep an eye out for you too!

And anyone else that's looking.

Because I am super nice and also need a life :P

Haha you are SUPER nice. I wish I could spend more time planning....I got to get down to business next week to plan FP+ and all my alternate scenarios. I'm looking for Mama Melrose at 4PM on 11/30 and H&V on 11/26 at 4PM (this day is going to be nuts so I am sure nothing is going to open up!). I keep hitting refresh but you seem to be getting lucky. Thanks :)

I have spreadsheet envy from everyone's fancy plans :)

I'm stalking Hollywood & Vine on 11/28, dinner for 6. I have a reservation for 4 right now so I could just take one for 2 around the same time (5:35) and be okay, but it'd be much nicer to change it to one for 6!

I'm hopeful when people book FP's their plans will change a bit and something might open up. I'm sure we aren't the only ones with duplicate reservations so something needs to be opening up eventually! I've gotten lucky getting last minute ones once we are actually there so there is still hope!

On a side note, this SW fireworks hooplah is driving me nuts! My husband will be super bummed if he misses it. I would be too but once upon a time, I may or may not have went to Disney with my mom WITHOUT DH and was at Star Wars weekend and saw Symphony in the Stars and DH may or may not have been super jealous and mad he didn't get to attend. So we HAVE to make something work so he doesn't miss the new show so I can ease my guilt :D. I know if he had went to Disney without me....>:(

@Meeko5 I just realized that the BOG on 12/2 that I'm now giving up came from you!

I hope I can pass it to anothet great Dis member. :flower1:were

Did anyone else got a snotty PM from a Disboards member stating that ADR reservation cancellations should only take place on the December ADR Cancellation thread?

Not that I care, the person did not have a yellow line in their avatar so they were not a moderator. I just wondered if anyone else got one.

WHAT?! Oh heck no that's insane. If it's not a mod I wouldnt even bother with a response. If people are kind and active we are welcoming, no need to take it to a snarky PM. Sheesh!
