Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I'm hopeful and still worried but I guess we would never know until we get there. We do ok when we go out on a day to day basis and he does fall asleep in his stroller. He does have meltdowns sometimes but a small diversion usually stops it... But with the stimulation at WDW I'm not sure and therefore worried. We're doing the Xmas party too so I would really need to let him rest up that afternoon! :) thank you both for the encouraging words! By the way, since both of you took your kids at 2, did you bring potty seats?? How did you handle that or were they potty trained already?

My kids can fall asleep standing up. Literally, they have. Seriously, they sleep anywhere. Stroller naps at Disney were perfect for us. I bet my 4 year old will still fall asleep in our double this year.

We did not bring a potty seat. Two years ago our little one did great. He had been trained for almost 4 months at that point and we had no trouble. I always keep a change of clothes just in case.

My son wasn't ready for Potty training last year so we were all diapers then. Now he's about 75% there peeing but will cry and bring me a diaper when it's time to poop :rolleyes2 I have no idea how it will go this year but anticipate he will be in pull ups. He does have no issue sitting on big potties (even in public) though so hopefully that works in my favor!

For both boys, we threw away diapers/pull ups. They threw them in a garbage bag themselves and we never turned back. Once they felt an accident in real underwear, they hated it. Worked really well for them.

Oh I wish mine were so easy. I kept asking if he needed to poop and he kept saying no until he went in his diaper just now...

I may have to train him to go to the bigger seat now... Hopefully he does not fall in! Lol!

When we took our youngest at 2.5 he slept in the stroller - he never did that at home, it was awesome. But we still felt like since we were getting to the parks early, that we couldn't do late nights. That worked out really well for us; even though we missed the nighttime entertainment it staved off meltdowns for all of us. We caught the fireworks on the last night.

I wish that had bothered my kids, lol! All 3 of mine were sooooo not in any hurry to ditch the diapers. YDS was still in pull ups when he went at 2.5.

My plan is to try to get a nap or rest in between if we have a late night. But since half the parks are open pretty early (AK and DHS) we probably will not take a break when going to those parks and hope he naps in the stroller!

Mine is not in a hurry to get off his diaper either. :(

Goodness, I am away for 8 hours and I missed 4 pages of conversation :cutie:

All you MVMCP people are starting to make me think I need to go haha. I've never done any extras in all my trips as a kid and adult. So tempting!
.
We went to MVMCP several years ago when it was only $50/ticket and we loved it. The parades we fantastic and the snope was our favorite! Back then the attendance was low so we walked right on all the rides over and over.

Also thanks for reminding me how grateful I am that my kids are all potty trained!

My wild and crazy Friday night has been spent trying to fix our driveway with the tractor. We have a steep gravel driveway that washes out with hard rain and we sure got a doozy of a storm last night! It's still not done but I gave up for the night to come inside and Disney plan.

I just got off the phone with a lovely CM in ticketing who switched my MVMCP from 11/27 to 12/1! It was not easy, but it was all done in 20 minutes. I guess because I paid with 2 gift cards for the first party tickets there was some hassle getting the computer to refund the gift cards and re-charge. The 12/1 tickets are $1 cheaper, so the refund kinda screwed it up. I told him "keep the change" but he wanted to try anyway and he ended up being successful with the small exception that he had to keep $0.01 of the refund to trick the computer to do what it wants. I'm relieved because if any of my plan changes were going to not work, it would've been switching party dates! I actually made $2.11 back by switching. I better not spend that all in one place. ;)

I also changed my return flights to early Monday afternoon instead of Sunday night and reserved a night at the Marriott at the airport with points! I just couldn't justify shelling out another potential $400 for 1 night somewhere on site just to wake up and leave for the airport.

Now I have to mess with the ADRs and park days, make a firm decision on EMM, and then reschedule the Wild Africa Trek. But my plans are looking so much better already!

Tried that! Hid them all, he did great until by day 3 I had to give him a suppository since he refused to go on the potty. Never again, good lord that was miserable! I'll take him asking to put a diaper on for 5 min a day over that lol

Poor thing! They sure can be stubborn! We are working on trying new foods now. Why is that so hard??

My 3.5 year old has been potty trained for almost a year but I'm thinking about pull ups in the parks as insurance. He's got no problems on the poop thing but he still occasionally pulls the "I have to potty right now or I'm going to have a accident" that would be miserable to deal with if we were in a line or just about to board a ride. Plus the hassle of dealing with it of it actually happens- puddle, changing clothes, etc. I haven't mentioned it to him yet, I should probably start preparing him for spending 7 days in pull ups.

Oh gosh..... I'm so glad potty training days are long gone.
My daughter was easy least. At 18 months she refused to wear diapers. We had one night time accident and then never looked back.
My son was born out of diapers until he was almost 4!!! He finally wanted to shed the diapers when he saw his sister taking karate. He wanted to Jon in the fun but NO diapers on the mats. So he woke up one morning and told be he was ready for big boy underwear. We were finally done with diapers!!

Ok weekend plan - nail down the fastpass plan, reserve the stroller.

I told myself I wasn't going to buy any new Disney shirts for the boys unless they were a super good deal, that they don't NEED to wear Disney shirts to the parks. My oldest has about a dozen star wars shirts, and my youngest has quite a few too. Yet here I am online shopping for deals haha

Yeah told myself that too, but.... Found Mickey Mouse shirts at Marshalls for each of them for $5.99. So far we have Mickey, Lightning McQueen, Star Wars, and Olaf. I want to find a pirate shirt for PL day and possibly Christmas shirts.

If I can get a good picture in front of the castle like last year, I'd like to do something christmas-y for our cards. Maybe I'll just get plan green and red shirts for us all and throw a small iron on mickey head on them. Matching family shirts aren't really something I love, nor could get DH to do. But a subtle icon and coordinating colors I could probably get away with.

I need to figure all that out and borrow my friend's Cricut again. I was going to make decals for the magic bands too and still havent!

DD had been potty trained for over a year when we went. I have a folding potty chair that we take everywhere. DD is on the petite size and still can't sit on a standard seat. This one came is a giant ziplock bag which made it great for storing in our backpack.

Also FYI, all Disney resorts have complimentary pack n plays. You just need to request it on your reservation. I requested one but when we got to our room there was not one in sight. I was a little panicked since it was already past her nap time. I called the desk and there was one delivered within 10 min. My only suggestion is to take your own pack n play crib sheet. I forgot ours but they give you a sheet. Lets just say theirs are very well loved. The one we got was a graco brand.

We did "matching" shirts when we went to H&V. DD and I had on raglan Christmas shirts. Hers had a Christmas tree and mine had a old fashioned Santa. DH just wore a red t shirt. He made it clear he would not be wearing any Disney and/or matching shirts. We put our pic with Goofy on one side and pic of us in front of castle on the other. Good thing DD is so petite she still fits in her shirt from last year. So thinking about recycling them for the MVMCP this year.
