Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Has anyone used the Touring plans personalized plans? I have been playing around with them, and I just cant imagine that the middle of the afternoon and evening on Thanksgiving day there will be such low wait times. A 37 minute standby wait at BTMRR at 3:15pm? A 5 minute standby wait at Pirates at 8pm?

We id last October and found them very accurate. But I am not sure how this year will play out with so many changes happening in the coming months. I have to guess that will affect their accuracy, but hope not!

I feel like I am fortunate to have no plans to eat at Chef Mickey, Tusker House, or Ashkerus... But we are doing oodles of other character dining. No way FD will be a great deal for us if those meals are suddenly 2 TS credits. I still think we are safe but all those conversations are making me a bit uneasy. Thoughts?

I'm hoping it's not really happening but I'm uneasy too. We do have plans to eat at CM. Hoping at least our current ressie is safe from changes but would love to hear confirmation one way or the other.

Our itinerary:
11/25 - arrive MCO at 4:25, check in at resort, swim or MK or DS (DS5 wants to see evening parade/fireworks so leaning towards that)
11/26 - HS, H&V +Fantasmic dinner
11/27 - MK, PPO BOG or drop in favor of seeing welcome show, Crystal Palace dinner
11/28 - AK - am, Flame Tree BBQ; EP - pm, Garden Grill dinner
11/29 - MK, PPO BOG, Ohana dinner
11/30 - MK, PPO BOG, BOG lunch, back to resort for ME by 5:00

Option 1:
11/25 POR - ferry to Disney Springs
11/26-11/30 - CBR

Option 2:
11/25 CBR - bus to MK or DS
11/26 CBR - hopefully get to stay in same room

Option 3:
11/25 CR - splurge for easy walk to MK for parade/fireworks

I think moving resorts on a park day would be stressful for me, so I'd probably choose CR for all. I went with a RO at the same hotel as our FD stay (ASSp woo lol) in hopes we won't have to move at all haha.

However I've always wanted to stay at the Poly since I was a child. Really I think you can't go wrong with any of your options!

You didn't mention any budget issues, so I would vote for Poly. Otherwise, I would probably do CBR for the whole trip, hoping to not have to move.

It would definitely be a splurge to stay at the Poly. I'm just not sure I can justify the splurge if I can fully take advantage of the monorail, you know? That's the one thing holding me back since it really is a bucket list kind of thing for me. A split stay doesn't bother me. We've done it the past two years. My only options for free dining are the Poly or CBR, since I've already secured those reservations, and nothing else is available for 5 in our budget.

Ongoing maintenance on the monorail. Periodic closures, which will be difficult to make it to ppo adrs.

Guys we need to liven this thread up because out of boredom I've gotten sucked into drama threads here about strollers for older kids and the orlando shooting. This will not end well for me haha. Last time I took a man down for shaming women who were breastfeeding at WDW.

Yeah, as far as my trip, I'm at a losses to what to do for the next couple weeks. There is no point at even looking at FP since we don't know what is going on with AK, or even HS, I suppose. I did schedule a sleigh ride at Ft Wilderness and appointments at Harmony Barber shop for my kids. That's about all I've got.

We aren't doing any extras, but it's fun to hear about what everyone else is doing! I wanted to get my youngest's first haircut at harmony barber but he didn't have enough hair last year. Now it's a curly mop mess, maybe they will know what to do with it?! Lol

DH wanted to do the Christmas Party, so to make him happy, I got tickets for Nov. 29. Now he has the bright idea to wear Santa hats, get our pictures done if front of the castle and use the Photopass photo as our Christmas card this year. I'm trying to talk him out of this, oh yeah, theme park hair, Disney tshirts and Santa hats, great family photo for a Christmas card! We normally do a more posed sort of Christmas family portrait to send out with Christmas cards. People we think we've gone senile, I think.

Yes, I was so glad that story leAked through this week and that everyone focused on everyone rallying behind her and not the jerk.

My daughter is 7 and has NEVER had her hair cut other than meNtrimming it. I figured even though it is technically not her first cut, I should still make it special. Then I figured I may as well get the boys haircuts while we are there as well. It is the day of our Christmas party night so I figured the "pixie dust" in their hair would add to the festivities.

Yes, I have found that there are 'trolls' even on the Dis, unfortunately. Some of them just live to be negative and condescending, and you will never win an online argument with them, because they are masters at making any who disagree with them out to be stupid and shallow. THEY are the ones that need the hobby.

There are a few SAFE HARBORS for us, this is one of them (Thank you Meeko5 for starting this thread) - another is the Rumors of Light (http://www.disboards.com/threads/ru...g-package-is-showing-up-as-an-option.3486308/) which was started by ArielSRL, in February as we started hearing about the Rivers of Light show at Jungle Cruise. That one is much like this, in that everyone is supportive and posts on any and all topics. We started calling it the ROL Lounge as it feels like a place to gather with friends. Sometimes we even talk about news and trip reports.
