Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

So far for us:
Sunday 11/27 - Arrival and Disney Springs
Monday - Hollywood studios
Tuesday - MK and dinner at a monorail resort
Wednesday - Epcot
Thursday - Animal Kingdom
Friday - MK in the early part of the day before Departure

We'll try to figure out if we can hop back to MK on a non-party day for Wishes. I'm assuming if
Monday is a wishes day, would it be best to skip fantasmic! and hop over to MK?
As of right now, I was thinking of leaving HS after the early Hollywood and vine dinner to relax for a bit before either returning for fantasmic! or choosing another activity/park.

We've decided on what to do our first day onsite, Sunday, 11/27. We're going to MK (MVMCP day).

BOG breakfast, as early as possible
9:30 Keys to the Kingdom tour (first time for us)
8:30 dinner at Narcoossee's, where we'll watch Wishes

Sometime in the afternoon, maybe around 4 or 5 when the party people start coming in, we'll head over to our hotel room to unpack. (We're staying off-site on arrival night). Then we'll drive over to Grand Floridian to look at all the Christmas decorations. If we have time, we'll visit the other hotels on the monorail loop.

That Wednesday, we'll be heading over to Universal to visit the Harry Potter attractions.

Still working on plans for the rest of the trip.

We plan to do the MK on the 27 as well. The 29 I think we will do HS and then AK on the 1st. Other than that we are not sure:)

Have spent a good bit of my relax Mother's Day time today trying to figure out of schedule (DH even humored me and listened to my preliminary itinerary)

Saturday 11/26- Arrival Day, Disney Springs, Trex Cafe-Dinner, Pool Time
Sunday 11/27- MK, Whispering Canyon-Dinner
Monday 11/28- HS, Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic Package (Minnie's Holiday Dine)
Tuesday 11/29- MK, BOG-Breakfast (Hoping for an early ADR- would love to see Main Street empty) Crystal Palace-Late Lunch, Back to Hotel for Downtime, Park Hop to Epcot for Illuminations and EMH
Wednesday 11/30- Late Breakfast- Ohana, Epcot, Park Hop to MK for Wishes and EMH
Thursday 12/1- AK
Friday 12/2- Final Day, MK, CRT- Dinner
(I'm pretty sure Thurs and Fri we will not be at recommended parks. They haven't released EMH for those days yet but bases on the previous months I think 12/1 will be AK and 12/2 will be MK. Boo. I could switch these days but I just can't imagine not ending our trip at MK.)

Now if I can just manage to get all those ADR. Eeeeep! Has anyone ever done pre-opening breakfasts? Are those times really hard to come by?

Our schedule is almost identical! Great minds think alike ;)

Man I missed a lot today! I should turn on email alerts for this thread eh? :)

So far I've got:

Sat - likely late afternoon arrival depending on flights. Probably a QS dinner and get settled.
Sun - Ohana breakfast possibly, disney springs for a few hours since Disney Quest hasnt closed yet. T-Rex for dinner.
Mon - Rope Drop at HS to sign up for JTA. may head back to room before dinner - hoping for sci fi - to rest up before Star Wars fireworks
Tues - MK day - rope drop for sure since we wont be doing parties. Dinner at BOG or Ohana if we don't do breakfast there on Sun.
Wed - EP, dinner at Via Napoli or Garden Grill maybe.
Thu - AK day, probably will sleep in a bit and get a late start depending on the evening stuff. Dinner at Yak and Yeti? DH doesnt want to do Tusker again this trip. He's begging for Boma haha.
Fri - MK day #2, rope drop again and leave at party time. Not sure about dinner this night.

Last year DS and I hopped to MK after our Epcot day. Were there from 8:15-11:15 and he was so excited to ride rides that he didn't give a crap about wishes. We watched the first few fireworks from right in front of Space Mountain and then he drug me into the ride. Spoiled my fun! We may hop over to see wishes, but a bigger priority for us will be the Star Wars fireworks :)

I also think my kids and hubs would love whispering Canyon dinner, but the transportation after a park day make me tired just thinking about it. We did Boma on a party day when we left early last year and the kids were too tired by the time we got there. Decisions, decisions!

We did BOG at 8:20 on a 9am day, and booked everything after the 180 day window because I had no idea about it when i booked lol. I've come a long way ;)

Someone on another thread suggested that I skip Disney Springs on Sunday evening and instead do the Boardwalk area and watch Illuminations from the bridge. Does this sound like a reasonable alternative? I'm not sure what the family will want to do, but it could be another option.

I don't know... Disney Springs has been going through a ton of construction that should mostly be done by the time we go in November. I'm actually kind of anxious to see it! The bus situation to and from the Springs should be easier with the new bus depot opening soon. Either one would be good, but I feel like there is a little more to explore at the Springs than the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk is really nice at night though. Very laid back and fun-feeling. You could almost do both, depending on what time you get in. You could go to Disney Springs for the afternoon and then catch the bus to Boardwalk Inn to see it for awhile before taking a bus from DHS back to your resort. I know it sounds busy, but you wouldn't be doing much other than walking around and looking at whatever caught your interest. You could always skip the Boardwalk altogether if you get done at the Springs and just want to head back to your room.

I was clueless last year too. Looked into going to Disney a week before free dining dropped. Got a room online at 4 pm. Had to pick ADRs later that week and had no problems. We were going to drive but got $100 round trip airfare from Southwest when I looked on a whim. I think that is why I am stressing so much this year. Last year just fell into place. I can't imagine everything will go that smooth this year. Here's hoping!

Ours was on a whim the day free dining dropped and a friend posted about it on FB. Now I have to make this trip live up to the first trip...or be better.

Challenge. Accepted. Lol

I'm too scared to do ppo breakfasts. I'm afraid we won't get up in time or will miss the bus. With 6 of us, I'm not doing a taxi or uber either. So ppo breakfasts are probably just out of the question for us. We'll try to make rope drop, but this way if some of the group can't get up in time, we're okay still.

My husband was SO against the BOG PPO we did, until we got there and he saw the crowd of people waiting at the gate just to get in at regular park opening. I told him we either do the breakfast, or get there 45 min before the park opens and wait outside in the heat. Totally worth getting up a little earlier for, and I'm contemplating trying for it again this year for both MK day. especially since they are MVMCP days so we need to make good use of the early mornings...

As it is I told him I'd take the 7yo way early to HS to wait for Jedi training and he and the toddler can take it slower. My oldest is up at 6:30 every day anyway, may as well make good use of it o_O

ADR day is getting closer! I have a predicament. We have never seen fantasmic and want to plan to see it Friday Dec 2 at HS and have a dinner ADR. But, on wdwinfo fantasmic states NONE for all of November. What days of the week is fantasmic generally offered and what time?

It should be offered every night. Disney has been doing really wacky things lately by not including all of their nighttime entertainment on the initial schedule. They fill it all in when they update the schedules in subsequent months. I'm sure we can plan on F! running nightly that whole week. I don't know the times though.

Ditto this, they are painfully slow at releasing nighttime event times but I would think it will be nightly.

I did find this which shows hours for last year and some nights it has Fantasmic twice. Of course it is probably going to be way different this year but it's a start :)
