Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

So I did end up getting the Dessert Party for 6 of us on Thursday the 1st. When I hung up the phone I had been on for 1 hour and 10 seconds!! It took 30 mins to speak to someone and another 30 for her to figure out how to book it. She said she had just hung up with someone who wanted the same date but that there was nothing available. I made a comment that it was surprising since it had just come out that morning. She agreed and thought maybe she was doing something wrong. She did a lot of clicking around and finally she said that if she inputted all my info (name, address, etc) before she clicked on availability, it worked! She said normally they do not have to do that.

Then I charged $354 for six people to have cupcakes. What has Disney done to me?!!!

This also means we won't see Fantasmic which is disappointing but we just cannot do everything...

The earlier hours actually help me out a bit because of all my EMM/rope drop/EMH plans. It'll be okay if they extend them an hour or so, but any later than that and we'll have to make some tough choices.

That's what I was thinking! Might make the few later nights I do have planned ok with the kids.

Expect that 11pm-1am EMH at MK. I'm seriously hoping to get the fam settled in bed after wishes and hop back on a bus to MK. Blissfully alone!

I'm wondering now if I should do this for Dec 7 too! :rotfl2:

Umm... good luck with that! :thumbsup2

I agree, good luck with that. We once stayed in a 3 bedroom condo at Wyndham Bonnet Creek, all the little ones in the farthest back bedroom. It had been a long first day and everyone was yawning by 7pm and asleep in bed by 9. Actually some of the grown ups were asleep before 8:30!

I got a second wind and decided to sneak out to MK alone for an hour or two. I quietly gathered up my stuff and tiptoed to the door to the condo like a cat burglar. As I slipped into the hallway, ready to silently shut the door, I hear "Grandma, where are you going?". I almost felt like a teenager slipping in past curfew again. Anyway, the game was up. You can't take one and leave the rest, so my plan was thwarted. Sigh

This even inspires me to try even more :rotfl2: but I'm guessing I would be the one too tired to try. Doubt my DH and DS would wake up after a long day ;)

Last fall we did Epcot for the day - got there at 9am, stayed thru our 5:30 PM biergarten dinner then got back to the hotel around 8pm. DH and the youngest went to bed and at 9 MY then 6yo and I went to MK until 11. It was awesome!

I can for sure hang until 1am if I have enough caffeine! ;)

I'm hoping that DH and I can get the boys into bed, hand Nana a glass of wine, and sneak back out for a couple hours! That is, if DH doesn't claim that my extreme touring exhausts him lol

That is awesome!! Haha.

I don't think I would attempt it if staying offsite - but those Disney buses just make it so easy!

I was more thinking about how long it would take to get back to the room after Wishes, get everyone settled, and then get back to MK. Seemed like it could take up most of that 2 1/2 hours, possibly. But ya never know. It would be amazing if you were able to get back though! What fun! :tigger:

In that aspect, I'm good! I have one little only right now and we're staying at CR :jumping1: can definitely sneak out! Hmm... wait until after the trip and I tell you I fell asleep before my two year old :rotfl2:

Clearly I'm an optimist and not a realist haha. I haven't been in the hoardes leaving after wishes before...haha!

I'll just send DH with both kids and the double stroller. He can handle it :P

AK is our least favorite park mainly because my kids are still at the age where MK is their absolute favorite and they want to do rides all the time. They like the animals but we have an amazing zoo here in STL. And this trip we have only 4 park days. So 2 at MK, 1 at HS, and 1/2 at Epcot, leaving 1/2 for AK. Kali is actually my favorite ride but I think it will be too cold. And the kids are too young and scared to do EE again. So I am ok with missing this park and it would be nice to have some cushion just in case our plans go wrong, 1 of the 4 kids gets sick, etc. Hope that make sense. That being said I would still love to see ROL!
Of course it does! Having limited number of days, I would too cut out AK.

We're members of the STL zoo too!

Random question: in the midst of all this hoopla on DHS fireworks, is there any news on ROL? I was really hoping that all the news would come out together (but of course Disney would want us to look forward to more planning gaps!) :rotfl:
With any luck once you get the rest of your plans finalized they will release ROL.
In all seriousness, there is so many conflicting reports. Disney released an announcement on Thursday that it would open in early May but quickly took the post down. Then there's the reports that they are going to have a "soft" opening early November so it's ready to go for the busy holiday season. I wish they would make a decision soon. I really don't want to change my plans around again!!

We were geniuses walking into see Anna and Elsa when everyone else was walking out after wishes. I thought DH was going to kill me.
