I was really looking forward to going on our first ever "off peak" Disney vacation, but after reading the Pop Warner posts i'm leery. I have a group of 16 and most are parents and grandparents with 6 kids under the age of 6. We would stay at a value or moderate. We were planning on attending the week of 12/3 - 12/10, but that being the first week of December, I'm assuming that PW will be down there then. So my questions are for DISers that were down there late Nov. early Dec this year.

What are crowd levels the week after Thanksgiving?

Do you think that the 12/10 - 12/17 would be better?

Does anyone know next years PW SuperBowl schedule?

Thanks for your help and Happy New Year everyone!!!

You should be fine the week after Thanksgiving its usually the first full week of December or 2 weeks after thanksgiving....That being said I have been the pass 2 years during Pop Warner and even stayed at the All Stars Movies this year and Sports last year and we had no issues....in fact Movies was extremely quiet IMO...MGM that friday is to be avoided....And except for one or 2 minor issues I wouldnt purposely plan against that week. usually starting around the 4th of Dec is when you can expect them there. We always go that week to avoid that last thanksgiving weekend as we always arrive on a friday...Good luck whatever you decide on....

Pop Warner folks scare you off from that week. Yes, they (especially the cheerleaders and when the teams travel as packs with little parental supervision) can be annoying but they can usually be avoided. Staying at a value resort would increase your chances of running into them and/or hearing the rude cheers all night and day. A moderate might be a better option for you...better safe than sorry.

That week is great as the decorations are up and the overall crowds are down.

Enjoy!

We were at Disney for 10 days from 11/26-12/5 (we left the day after Thanksgiving). We arrived on Friday had dinner at Ohana, Saturday spent time at our resort (OLCC) and Sunday hit the parks. It was a little more crowded than I had anticipated but went thinking it would be busier after reading all the posts leading up to our trip.
We made use of FP and really didn't wait on any lines. We are planning on doing the same, again, heading back to Orlando the Sat. after Thanksgiving November 06.

We were at POP 12/2 thru 12/8. I think PW arrived on Friday or Sat am. We didn't encounter them too much at the hotel just a few younger cheerleaders at the pool and we actually had fun with them. They were supervised by many parents though. We met up with some older cheerleaders at EPCOT and they were just down right rude. They were oblivious to others around them running etc. But that was only one bunch. The rest were in large groups yes, but having fun. Saw some football players too and again no problems at all. We even talked to some around the pool or waiting in lines etc. It's nice to strike up conversations with people, it's fun and makes the wait times, bus rides etc go faster! The day we were leaving there was another large group coming in teenage girls either PW cheerleaders or dance team of some sort and that was the 8th so I don't know how long PW is but we were sorry we didn't go see the cheerleading comp at WWOS, it would have been fun. I would go again that week. Have fun.

I was at WDW the same week as Pop Warner last year, and didn't encounter any problems at all. The only time I was even aware they were there was occassionally when I was in a theme park, I'd see young girls with curlers in their hair. Otherwise, the presence of Pop Warner had no effect on me. I might feel differently if I'd stayed at a "Pop Warner" hotel.

We were at WL 11/27-12/2 and then moved to CBR until 12/5. We did not have any problem at WL. And we only saw a few girls walking around with their hair in curlers at CBR. We had no problems at the park. Sat. was a little crowded, but other than that the wait times were around 20 min at the most. With some only being 5-10 min. I thought that this was a great time to be there. Hope this helps.
