there was no one at the parks the week of 9-27

did anyone else go during this time & have the greatest vacation?

No offense to people who suffered from the hurricanes, but I'm glad you had a great vacation. We are leaving Saturday and one acquaintance remarked how all we would experience was clean-up from the hurricanes. I said I don't think so, and your message seems to suppport my position. I just checked the weather web site and although intermittent showers are forecast every day of our trip (as usual), the temps are supposed to be in the high 80s and no mention of more dire weather, knock on wood!

We were there during that time as well (arrived Sat Sept 25 just in time for the hurricane) and actually found the parks pretty packed on the Monday and Tuesday after the storm. We were at MGM Monday and were surprised how crowded it was. We started hearing throughout the day that a lot of locals were there since they didn't have power at home and/or work and the kids were out of school. It also didn't help that Tower was only open intermittently and RnR was hit or miss early in the day. By the end of the week, parks were more as we expected.

I was there between Francis and Ivan (9/11 - 9/15) and had the same experience. Very very small crowds. Most fast passes weren't even operational because you could ride and get back on.

We arrived on 9/25 and obviously we're SSR bound on Sunday, but on Monday at MK there were no lines at all! It took longer to walk through the winding line corral then the ride. Went on Dumbo, Buzz (2x), Peter Pan, Pooh and Philharmagic without waiting more than two minutes each. Even the rest of the week there weren't many people around, it was a great time to go. I thought Monday would be fairly empty due to people leaving after having delayed flights and people arriving later in the day for the same reason but we found the entire week to be very quiet. On Monday a CM said the hotels were only at 30% capacity so that's pretty cool. We had PS's at various restaurants and could have saved a lot of time not making them. We walked right into Chef Mickey's on Tuesday night, I mean we didn't even have to sit in the waiting area. A great time to go!

If we all only knew when a hurriance would blow through Orlando & that the next week would have no wind or rain. We all would be there & then the park would be filled to capacity

We also walked up to all rides in MK on Wed & the same at AK Thurs.

Everywhere we went was empty, empty, empty

We didn't wait for anything really, maybe 10 minutes max? Used fastpass only once I think?
