I am planning our next Disney vacation!!! We always take the kids out of school for a week to go to avoid crowds but this next trip I'm trying to fit in 3 days at SW/DC. I don't want to have them miss more than 5 days of school and I don't want to have less days at Disney. So I'm thinking about going mid week during Easter break to do the SW/DC part and then the following week at Disney. How busy is it the week after? We usually go late Sept-early October or early May. I'm hoping for similar crowds....Who has been the week following spring/Easter break? TIA :)

Spring/Easter Break varies by school district, so it be more helpful to list the specific dates you thinking of going. I've been tracking some of the Spring Breaks on the West Coast (e.g., school districts in CA, OR, WA, TX, and British Columbia) and they range from March 7 to April 15, so it's quite a range and they don't all tie that closely with Easter weekend.

We always go during Spring Break. Many of those trips have either been the week before or after Easter Sunday. We go to the parks at rope drop, return to the room after lunch, then go back to the parks in the evening. We accomplish a lot during that time. It is our "normal" time to visit.

We went the week after our spring break this year. It was like $1000 cheaper to go that week verses our spring break week. Anyways we did exactly what u want to do. We stayed off site for 2 days and did SW/DTD and then headed to Disney for a week. The crowds were still busy but they were manageable. My son is on the spectrum so we had a DAS, but in getting return times for it I did notice that the rides we were going on none were over like 45 minutes...and those were your big rides like 7dmt, thunder mountain, splash mountain, space mountain, test track. We didn't do Soarin so i couldn't tell ya how long that wait was.

It's crowded but if you plan or go in with the expectation you won't see as much as sept/oct it's fine

We usually go off season too but went from good Friday through the following Sunday his year

Yes it was crowded and yes we did not do nearly as much as we normally do but we had a blast and would go back again over break without question

The schools in my community start spring break April 1. The school systems that is next to us starts the week before. Then you have all the school systems that are year round and have 2 weeks at spring break. Not even sure when they start.
