I've never seen it, either, but I heard (though I don't know that it's true) that they released it on video a while ago but pulled all copies from the shelves because people found the movie offensive because of it's views on slavery or something like that.
It has never been released for home video (either VHS or DVD) in the United States. But it was released in Japan on a LaserDisc and in the UK on DVD (and possibly on VHS). You can buy copies of it on the internet and it is possible to download the UK DVD version and burn it to a DVD. There are also copies available on the internet that people made by taking a camcorder into a theater, the quality of these copies is generally pretty poor.
