I'm starting to think about the actual date of my wedding, and I wanted to know that for October, what were your experiences, weather wise? Would you recommend going then? Was the weather good, or did hurricane season affect it too much? :sunny:

When DH proposed I knew I wanted an October wedding before anything else, including a DFTW, October is my favorite month. We were married at 3:00 pm and the weather was gorgeous. It was a perfect day, not hot at all and a light breeze.

October is in hurricane season and it seems the past 2 years they hit the end of August through October most often in central Florida. We lost our power for a week in Charlie and again with two others that hit in 2004, but we got off easy compared to a lot of people. Hurricane Wilma derailed our honeymoon cruise to Mexico, but we went on one to the Bahamas so that was fine (even better actually since niether of us had ever been there).

Of course I wanted a beautiful day, but my feeling was, that's my wedding date, if there is a storm or even a hurricane, Disney is the safest place to be, they have their own power source, they will make sure I get married even if it's indoors, and getting married is the most important part. In the end it worked out perfect.

I found the Farmer's Almanac to be helpful actually, as well as http://www.weatherunderground.com and enter "Lake Buena Vista" scroll down and you can look at historical weather for any date and get data of what the average temperatures and rain are for the day you're considering.

Best Wishes :goodvibes

I was wondering the same thing about Early November!! We were thinking April 2007 but my allergies always act up around that time and I don't want the heat of the summer or hurricane season (I live in Fl...about 90 minutes from Disney so I know about both!!). I'm going to use that link and one for the National Hurricane and looke up those dates for early November!!! Recently I know the majority of the Hurricanes happen in August-sept/oct but hurricane season offically ends Nov 30th.

The reasons we picked October were because:

1. Testing in school would be over (we pulled our kids out of school for a week)
2. Value season at Disney...
3. I thought that it wouldn't be too crowded during this time
4. Nice weather :sunny: (not too hot, not too cool)

We ended up picking the best week ever! The weather was beautiful, traffic wasn't that bad and our resort package was cheaper...so I say October is a wonderful month! :thumbsup2

On our actual wedding day, it rained/thunderstormed most of the morning, but because of the rain we were magically :wizard: moved to WP (original location was Sunset Pointe).

Who could ask for more?

I also want an October Disney wedding. October is mine and my DF's favorite month. We want to do it around Halloween, eventhough it is not value season, which we were originally tring to stick with, but I think October is a beautiful month to get married in!

Looks like we Ariel and Eric girls like October
:rotfl:

Uktigger,

You should love staying at CBR, this is where most of our group stayed, including us. :thumbsup2 We had a fab time and enjoyed the walks to the main pool and Old Port Royale, I think October was a great pick too!

We rented the boat on our last day and enjoying cruising the water and saying goodbye to CBR.

Congrats!

I've stayed here 2-3 times now and we just loved it!!! If you get a preferred room there is not much walking to get to the food court/gift shop area. It was a short, beautiful walk!!! We'll def stay here again sometime!!! My only complaint was that when we got there early in December, they could not give us a room until 3pm. But that was expected...I was just hoping for better luck. But after we got to the room it was worth the wait!! I've stayed at value, mod and delux resorts and we really enjoy the CBR!!! I have a few pictures on my web page along with a trip report (link is in my signature) if you want to see them. I wonder what has been said badly about CBR? :confused3

goofygal :wave2:
i had read on another site that the rooms needed renovating and that the shower curatin was mouldy and the carpet was stained (with what i don't know)and aslo the transportation ws bad :confused3 i have only ever stayed in a value resort and was just panicking i guess  i going over to have a look at your pictures now
