Just trying to find an idea of what the median cost or fee is for a friend...

I think ours was around $100, but that was 15 years ago.

I am pretty sure the fee for an officiant at Disney was $200-$250, so I am going by that # until I get in touch with an officiant here.

We were never told an exact amount. The priest we started doing our classes and prep work with left the church about 2 months before we were getting married. We didn't find out until a couple days before our wedding who was going to marry us. He showed up late for the rehearsal, kept trying to "marry" me to our best man, didn't really do much for us outside of the actual ceremony so needless to say, we didn't give much-maybe $50 or so?

There was never an actual fee mentioned , but I think we gave the priest $50 or $100 maybe. That was 18 years ago.

There's no "fee" for me since we're getting married in my Church (and I'm a member.) But I just checked the paperwork that was sent over and it's $200 for use of the Sanctuary and $150 for our Pastor for non-Members.

Disclaimer: We will be making a gift to the Church, so obviously while there's no "fee," we know to donate!

$350 for a non-denominational minister to travel to our non-church location.

My brother and SIL had to give a $500 "donation" to their church.

well i'm getting married tomorrow and its 38.50

My pastor is charging $300 for coming to our outdoor location.

Ours was just a marrige license. We had the Judge of our county do the service. It was pretty cool.He talked to my DW for a 1/2hr and me the same to make sure we where seriuos abot what we were about too commit to.

21yrs later,we think his talk was good!!!:thumbsup2

In our Catholic Church, there's no set fee, its a donation given by the bestman. He gave the priest $200, the organist $50 and the 2 altar servers $25 each There were church ladies that set things up for the Mass, but we considered them volunteers, so they got a thank you and a hug.

I work as the wedding hostess for our church. We do very few weddings, but I think the costs are $200 for the pastor, $150-200 for the building, $150 for the organist, $100 (this I know;) ) for me.

I'm pretty sure the building cost is waived for members and some pastors will also waive their compensation as it is a pretty basic function of their job.

Don't know about the organist, but I have never waived my payment. But I would if I was also invited to wedding and reception. But that hasn't happened yet.

We were married in the church my husband's family were members of. There was no set fee for members for the church itself or the priest and no suggested donation.
I think my in laws ended up donating $50 and a huge batch of his favourite cookies to the priest and $200 to the church itself (it was a small wedding, we brought in no flowers, did the rehearsal food ourselves, etc so they felt if the whole thing was not an over the top affair they should tip appropriate to what it was--they tipped a lot more for the much bigger wedding of another child. They also donate a lot to the church year round very year). This was in 1996.

If I remember correctly we didn't have a set fee that we had to pay our pastor, we gave him a monetary "gift" and paid a usage fee for the church (like $100).
