wedding

Thank you so much girls. The pictures really do not do it justice. I cant wait to glue on the snapple bottles though!

Now I am on the hunt for a veil... acheap one at that... because i already cant wait to take it off (I hate things on my head lmao)

I know what you mean about hating things on your head- when i tried on a veil with my dress i wasnt sure at all- i felt like i couldnt move my head and like it was pulling me backwards - i also hate things that do / or could mess up my hair!! Its very rare if you catch me wearing a hat!

How about looking on ebay? I will def be looking on ebay for a veil if i decide to have one- and i will look on there for a tiara - i dont want to spend a fortune on them - especially the veil - i will hardly wear it.

mmm snapple iceeeeee teaaaa- i will be drowning myself it that when i am in Orlando in 13 days!! One of the first things i will do when we arrive at our hotel is leave the hotel and find the nearest shop to stock up on ice tea and diet pepsi with wild cherry!! mmm!!

let us know if you find any veils for a bargain!

Oh, I did not even want to have a veil, but my mom talked me into it! Mine will be off right after the ceremony!

Wow, seems like he has some problems with marriage? Maybe he is unhappy with himself? Who knows don't listen to him!! Meanies!
I do love these boards. They are my sanity honestly.

Thank you for all your comments they made me smile!
Jenny

have you got anything else to make for the wedding Jen? I love coming on your PJ and seeing if you have made anything else - youre too good - you put us all to shame!

Oh no, trust me, I am bad at plenty of things!

I actually just finished my ring bearer pillow, flower girl basket.... and all the stickers for my favor boxes...and table numbers...

Now I am printing out the donation cards for the favors and then I'll cut them up...

I figured since I was off this week that I would do as much as I could before work started again...

Ill post the table numbers in aminute!

So, I decided to go with the snapple idea for the tables!

Thats ok I really enjoyed reading your PJ and all your plans It is so exciting when you have some one reading your PJ

Those are too cute! I love that you added "real facts" that is a great idea! :goodvibes How many people are going to your wedding, I dont think I have ever asked you that?
Do you have a lot of tables??:confused3

I love your table numbers so cute do you ever stop lol you are always planning :D

noo Jen never stops - she is a teacher - she has it in her blood! She doesnt sleep either! Its half term (what we call it here- not sure what you call the school holidays over there?) - you should take a break and relax!

I love the table cards- so wicked - the first one is great! they are all great!

So has it worked out cheaper to make things yourself than buy them in the shops? I guess the only downside is the time to make things? I wish i was like you- i would make everything if i could but i just cant do it hehe!

Once again, well done you !! Post piccys of the flower girl baskets and when ya can, i'd love to see what ya have done!

to think when it comes to your wedding (which seems to be getting close!), to see all what you have done (with others help, but mostly you from what i have read on here)... it will be a massive achievement- you should be so proud of what you have done- all the stuff you have made for your wedding

Ok... I just read all 20 pages of this and when I found out you were a teacher I nearly choked. How in the world are you staying sane?! I am a teacher (2nd year, 1st in my school/grade) and I don't even have time to think, let alone think about my wedding. In fact I cry regularly because I don't even want to think about my wedding because it takes away from time that I should be doing school work. I read that you teach at a Catholic school... I did that last year (in a grade level/subject I didn't want). I feel like I would rather take the pay cut and go back to Catholic education just to not have to deal with all the nonsense of public schools.

Anyways, now that I got completely off topic... all of your stuff looks AMAZING.

And I had the opposite problem with my registry. We pretty much need everything so we put all that stupid cheap stuff that eventually adds up (ya know, salt/pepper shakers, spice racks..etc.) and my cousin actually laughed at me and asked why we didn't ask for expensive stuff! But I cheated and looked last night and someone did buy our expensive down comforter!! (now if only someone would buy the duvet cover for it haha)

Another off topic... where do you come up with your creative ideas for your class? I used to be really creative and had amazing lessons and then I had a really bad student teaching experience and have had a brain block since then. And what classroom management do you use? (sorry these are so off topic, but I want to get opinions from young teachers like me- I teach in a city school and they are rough). And my kids are anywhere from K level to 4th grade level (and I teach 3rd).

Well now that this is a mess and unorganized... congrats on your upcoming wedding (I think you will be in Disney a couple days after we leave)!

We are only having 120. We lied to fmil and told her 90 because she started with the "I have to invite my friends" lol..

LOL, i stop when I'm grading tests and when Im acting out the Civil war withthe kids:rotfl: but other than that.... nope!

LOL yes you are right!!!! Its break but I figured I should get as much done now as possible. March I start my third job (Weekend school) so thatmeans no time for anything but the gym for an hour before pasingout...

It has worked out much cheaper for me. Most of the items I got (paper etc) I got from another board from girls who after their wedding had extra and have asked if I wanted it because I've helped them in one way or another... One of the girls actually offered me her veil when I was looking! The kindness of others really touches my heart!

Awwwwwww stacy you just made me cry. I didn't think of that. So many of my friends who have just got engaged are having someone do those thing for them by paying someone, I truly feel if I can do it myself,it means more...you know?

I work three jobs:rotfl: but teaching in a cath school def has its benefits.
What i do is ihave this huge rolly cart that ibring with me.MY kids have alot of independent work time (theyre 10) and sowhen they are working Ill cut things or glue.... and sometmies they offer to help when they are finished. They get very excited to see what i'm doing for the wedding too!

I also had major sleeping problems so this would keep me from crying when I wouldnt fall asleep till 4 and wake at 5. Not good

My teaching inspirations...i literally come up with them as I go. I dont know if the ADHD I have helps any though, I get bored very easily with it and always have to do something....

What I ususally do is before I leave work I read the next days chapter and think about how I can make it more intersting. Like we were learning about longhouses and i brought in toothpicks and had them make them, for valentines we made a poem and made those pretzels...

I honsetly can say it just comes to me. I Guess what i lack in brains I make up for in creativity. I've mentioned before I'm dyslexic, and at times espesially when teaching, my brainbegins to "popcorn" and I cant read a thing. My students are really kind to me though, I'll say "Ms D cant read right now can you tell me what the next question is?" And usually they'll all get the hint and continue on without me having to explain...

I also do alot of searching on the internet for holiday crafts, and social studies crafts etc.

Have you ever checked out teacherandtherockbots.com ? THEY ARE AWESOME. They have cds for everything and every subject, my kids are HUGE verb song fanatics! hth

That is what I did last year, I had three jobs and I feel more stressed this year with just one! I tried doing that... giving independent work, but my kids have had their hands held far too much and literally can't be independent. I try to teach them to be because for their state test I can't say a word to them but they just don't get it.

I have never heard of that site, I am going to have to go check it out. If you have any other sites that are good would you PM me with them? (I don't want to take over your PJ with teaching stuff!)

I...Have met my match

I'm not too sure if Ive ever explained my deprived from all things sweet childhood before, but I am starting to believe that this may be the reason why I am obsessed with Disney's buffets... crystal palace.... biergarten...chef mickeys.... someone stop me...

Perhaps it is the idea of the never ending brownies or pancakes with real syrup.... or the mounds of fattening cake that you can pile on your dish without hearing "JEnny that has high fructose corn syrup".... however... I have met my match...

See, my mother...i love her dearly, but her idea of a special treat were unsalted sunflower seeds or hummus for lunch. Now, image little Jenny in the movie "My big fat greek wedding" sitting in the lunchroom of children with cheesedoodles and pudding snacks and her eating... hummus. "You are eating homos?" I would then start to cry when they called me a cannibil....

And perhaps this is why, 20 years later, I have a obsession with foods that I can not have. I stare at them. Smell them. Think about them... and girls i thought its okay to think about food that you cant have (Like the food in disney because its so far away) but.... I have just met my match...

Oreo's. Believe it or not, I have just tried theses recently. My mum came home with a new recipe for her cupcakes, cookie cupcakes and you use oreos. You mush them up and bake them inside an angels food kind of cupcake (Whole wheat flour of course with sugar in the raw...who did i think i was kidding:mad: ) and viola...my obsession with these little cookies of heaven...

Now, yesterday, my dad came home with a package and they were yellow. Yes, yellow. "Odd"I thoughtto myself... and i had to open it to take a peak.

And to my surprise, they were filled almost doubled. "Dad, are these those special ones with the extra filling?" I asked almost too excitedly.

"JEnny their oreos. Oreos are a cookie"
:headache:
(See, in my family my father would be the only one allowed to eat these forbidden foods. I believe now that the reason of my mothers holding back on all things good was her fear that we would one day become him...unhealthy and obsese. A Former natural body builder who was a world champion, who then found pie.... and now, three heart attacks later....two strokes and one triple bypass.... he will sit with a cereal bowl, fill it with cookies and milk... this...is my reason why my health freak mother forced it upon us as well. Because even talking about the oreos makes me feel terrible, like I am harming my body with a knife!!!)

Okay so let's continue.
"Dad, these are filled almost double the normal cookie size"
"If it doesnt say double stuff then its not"
"Double stuff? They even have a name for it?"

So, here I am at 10:30 in the morning, thinking about the secret double stuffed oreos that are yellow and sitting in my kitchen.

And it also doesnt help that my fiance it 10 times worse than mum! Wont eat anything artificial, only organic, and its rare toeven get him to have the frosting from a cake.

Now, I know I dont have to worry about myself gaining the weight because the only time I ever gained weight I was on steroids for my kidneys (However those frappuchinos didn't help)

But as soon as I was "normal" again I went right back to size...

Oreos... oreos... thats all I keepthinking about. Girls, they are double stuff, and I will take the pictures to prove it:rotfl: :rotfl: They made a mistake, they had to have, because they are fluffy and yellow adn calling my name...

I... have met my match... those oreos may be my temptation....

Just thought I would give you girls a giggle today!

oh dont- i have just eaten a pizza and i feel like crying now!! i dont know how i even ordered it, i should have just put the phone down - i just kept talking to the man on the phone, i opened the door to the pizza delivery guy - i shouldnt have opened the door to him- arrrrggghh!! i was doing my diet well!! Know all im thinking about is how am i going to get rid of those 10000 calories i just put insdie my body!!!?? :scared1: i understand what you are saying with the whole food situation when you was younger- my parents were strict- then they let us eat what we wanted - BAD idea- they wanted us to (when we was old enough to understand food, like 14 or 15) to understand the way food works and about lifestyle- i used to secretly eat a whole multi packet of crisps, followed by chocolate bars - the lot -and i thought to myself - hey im not even getting fat! - i can eat more- which i did, and ate loads. I only realised about my weight when other girls were smaller than me - the thing is, my parents didnt know i was eating all this junk because i knew they would kill me- so i used to hide it in my room. I have learned loads from food that way- by being bad and indulging has showed me what it can do - i am much better now but i do still have those odd times where i will go crazy with food and george on it. But now i have found excercise in the name of the gym haha!

WE ALL HAVE TO INDULGE a little, all females need chocolate and cakes! I love oreos - but my favourite cookie is those double choc chip ahoys!

Yeah i think its great you have made everything for your wedding- it does definately mean so much more than getting someone else doing it - you have it exactly the way you want and its like a personal achievement as well. There will be things you can keep and look back at them and think 'wow, i made all this'. You should definately be so proud of everything you make because its really special! You get a biggg gold star from me! :thumbsup2
